I built up about $100 worth of Cabela's points on my credit card and they were starting to burn a hole in my pocket. I was in the Reno store over the weekend and decided to get something I'd likely not pay for normally. I purchased the seat belt style transom straps that don't give a guy a hernia everytime he tries to buckle the strap. I'll try to install in the next few days.

Wow, you let it built to 100 dollars? Now thats self control! Good for you. I usually start getting itchy to cash them in when they approach double digits lol That reminds me, I have 8 bucks on there now... I better get those redeemed!

It's not really tht hard to get that many points. I use my card like a debt card. Use it to pay for everything, and I do mean everything, food utilities mortagage, gas, worms, sucker meat, etc. Sometimes up to 5 or 6 K per month. Enter everything in the checkbook and then just pay it off at end of every month. Points build fast.

I typically buy my friends really good birthday presents with my points. Last time I had $100 worth of points, one of my buddies got a tekota reel. thumbsup

I'm always redeeming my points. I think I'm up to $4.00 now. I like the ratcheting strap idea. I think I'll look into those.

Ive had my Boat buckles for over a year now and I love them!!! Best 80 bucks I've ever spent!!

Can't loose them. They tighten and stay tight. I think they hold the boat in place better than the old style. I've also never had one come loose from bouncing down a pot-hole filled dirt road!

I have heard great things about the boat buckles in the short-term, but have had two friends that had to replace theirs after just a couple seasons because the springs rusted on them. Maintenance is also a key with getting these things to last a while.

Bought the SS model, so hopefully that applies to the spring as well.

Those Belt buckles are great I bought a pair for my 18 year old son and guess what- NOW his pants don't come down below his butt. Thank god for the credit points.

Only issue I've seen with them is when your fishing in below freezing temps in November and you go to put the boat back on the trailer after fishing for 6+ hours the buckles get frozen in the housing...couple strong pulls and they free right up...stomper

I bought the seat belt style strap last summer but miscalculated on how it would mount on my 'toon trailer. I still need to get that figured out.

I had $95 in Cabela's points a few weeks ago. My Okuma Catalina reels arrived and I used those points plus a $30 coupon and darn near got one of those awesome reels for free! Pretty sweet deal. Yes, I love my Cabela's points when I get to use them. thumbsup
