Cannon Mag 10 D.R.--HELP!

Ive been having problems with my new Mag 10 DR, its only a few months old but allready had it rtepaired. The whole "Mother Board " and the disconnectors had to be replaced.

The problem again is the disconnect plugs, they keep breaking off the prongs in the connector. I had them replaced but they broke again the first time out! I put on the electrical grease, but that didnt help!!

Does anyone know if there is a better way or a better set of disconnectors ? Would a regular 110 v male -female set work?

I am almost ready to buy another Scotty manual to replace this one !!!!

I've asked the 110v question before and was told it would work. I have Scotty connectors on my Cannon Downriggers and haven't had any problems in the many years of use.

This is how I mounted my old Scotty style connectores. I'd like to swap them out for the new style Scotty connectors.

I replaced my older cannon plugs with the scotty type plugs . The older style w/round plugs. I haven't had any problems w/my newer cannons . That or older the connectors for the cannon salt water type. Hope this helps ..

I have had this same exact problem on both of my cannon mag 5's. The dang plugs on both of them have broken the prongs of inside the plug. Last fall when the first plug failed,I contacted Cannon,and was told that I was handling the plug to roughly So over the course of the winter I replace the plug with a new cannon plug(50 buck s for original style plugs) Then this spring the other plug goes south on me. Now I have a 110 v style plug on one ,with no problems,and when the other plug give up the ghost I will replace it with a different plug also.

Walker Plugs

Here's is the one that came with my Walkers. They are heavy duty and very durable. I've seen these in trailer supply stores. Very common plug, used in wiring trailers. I keep a spare just in case but have no signs of the current ones breaking down.

I think that would be great to install an outside receptacle with closing cover plate in the gunnel. Just save the ends of the extension chords you lop off with the hedge trimmer for your downriggers. laugh hystlaugh hyst
