Hello All!
Was away but back now.
As you know Kokes have sensitive mouths and are notorious for spitting out the hook.
Well for all those who still fish for Kokes, here's a method I recently discovered from a fellow Koke fisherman, here in Ct., that has lots of success in getting hook-ups.
Attach at the tip of your rod a wire spring bobber. Yes! The same type as you would use for ice fishing.thumbsup
The spring bobber will indicate a bite faster than your rod tip and you can set the hook before the Koke has a chance to spit it out.
Also he baits the hook with the usual shoe-peg corn but putting the point of the hook thru the head of the corn up toward the open end thus hiding the hook point and barb.
I've used this system 2x now and totally convinced that I'm hooking more Kokes than ever before. tongue2
The spring bobber really lets you know when a light bitting Koke is on.tooexcited
Best regards,
Seadog
