So Very Cool of Dad to get Tara and I out with him on Berryessa Saturday since we all couldn’t hang Sunday.
Ethan was being a bummer and didn’t come with.

Word on the lake was Slow to Very slow for most.

So we were happy with what shoulda been three limits of kokanee and 5 disgusting furry truck trout. We each farmed a few or more(me), and there were a bunch more drive bys than we’re used to,
So we ended up with 8 Nice kokanee in the box and threw back(literally) them nasty ‘bows.

Dad had a good pattern from a respectable derby weekend prior, and we didn’t have a problem getting them to go, just boating them.

48-60 feet down, in depths 80-100, with pink/red/purple tubes early behind Sep’s 3/0 watermelon, and various RMT Dodgers first half of morning, then natural/chartreuse/green tubes late morning.

Dad was handing most of his hookups off to Tara,

And she was very stoked with how these better 16-17.5”ers fight

Thanks Again Dad! Happy Fathers Day!

Great pictures and some great fishing. Too bad about those nasty bows.

Were they all like that one pitured more or less? That is terrible if they are.

Great pictures, and nice limit! I got to celebrate father's day with my dad the weekend before which left Sunday the 21st open for some fishing. Luckily my brother & fishing buddy both have understanding wives that asked "what do you want to do for father's day?" They both got the hall pass to come along.

We only netted two kokes both in the 16-17" class, using similar setups and similar depths. Guess that's why they call it fishing.

There were also a handful trout in the mix. I grew up catching rainbows in the sierras and am bummed to see most of the ones I've pulled from Berryessa pock-marked. Must be some kind of parasite... but why are the trout so hard hit and yet the kokanee and kings seem unaffected?
