On my trailer, the side markers fwd of wheel well are amber and rear of wheel wells is red. Each wheel well themselves has 1 amber and 1 red.

Similiar to mine but the behind the wheel marker is facing toward the rear, not the side. If it is facing the rear, I believe it is read for vehicles approaching from the rear.

Exactly, the amber face fwd and the red faces to the rear, and the rest of the markers are true side markers.

Jason, The lite aft of the wheel on my trailer is red. When approaching from the rear should be able to see red including the back of the wheel area. Fwd of the wheel transitions over to amber.

the one behind the wheel points out not back and checking with Kokaholic to check regulations and checking my federal dot book im legal.
