A bit late on the report but might as well share it anyway as I grabbed some video for Youtube that I just finished. Fished aboard a friends boat, Khanh Tran, for a day out of Santa Cruz with his charter, NorthCalSportfishing.com.
Had a great day out there and we managed 2 fish to the box but had other opportunities so we can't complain. The fish I got was around 11-12 lbs and a good battle from the depths. The fish were very deep that week, 250 to 330 feet, which meant long hauls when we hooked up and the rock fish were taking the baits deep too but they were out of season. I almost forgot how good fresh caught salmon can taste like. Here's the video and some pictures from that adventure...
