When I was doing the Sturgeon Study for the Idaho Fish and Game I was watching the Baromiter quiet frequintly. My best results was a reading above 30.98. Anywhere above that reading I like to fish. Whats yours? Tonights reading here in Mountain Home is 29.47. I'm soory that I had written down30.28 I made a big error and apologize for the mistake.

Are you talking about the device which measures barometric pressure? 101duh101

Yep---I think so to be honest with you. I like the pressure to be above 30.98. The best Sturgeon trip, ever overnight is when there was a solar Eclipse we hooked 31 Sturgeon and landed 29 fish. Before that four different trips we hooked 24 and landed 20.

I like fishing with a steady barometric pressure or just before a low pressure arrives.

barometric Pressure

I prefer 29.5 to 30.5 seems I always do better around 29.5 but never that many fish Ken.. My first time out I hooked 13 and landed 11.. Oh my, I was hooked for sure... I wonder how much the barometric pressure effects the Koke's?.. I have heard that it definitely affects the Sturgeon. My guess, is that it affects both and then add in the moon phase.. I prefer the new moon for many species.
Gotta love trying to figure this out... :0

My average per catch for Sturgeon was 10 fish per trip that wasn't a bag average. Hooking 13 and landing 11 thats very good. I'm impressed.

Sturgeon

I got spoiled that trip and it was my first. On two occasions we had two on at the same time.
My best since then is only 8... To be honest with you though, 8 is plenty.. The lactic acid in my arms builds up and it gets a little painful... <- good pain... I love taking new people sturgeon fishing and listening to the comments.. IE, my back hurts, my arms hurt... etc... I get a kick out of it...Jt
