I love Bear Lake. There is something magical about that place. Some of the pretties water/fish/scenery around. I'm fairly confident about my fishing abilities over there. Rarely do i go home skunked, but my last three trips have given me a piece of humble pie. In the last three trips we have only got two fish to the boat. One was a nice 8lb male, so i can't complain too much, but dang. Not so much as a hit yesterday. . . Getting to not be worth the gas.

Spring time fishing over there can frustrate me to no end over there. All the fishing are migrating to either the depths or spawning grounds. I don't know what I'm doing, but there must be something wrong with my methods this spring.

I guess more time on the water is the only remedy for success.

Sorry for the rant. I just had to vent my frustration.

Any suggestions would be welcome! :)

Bear L is one of those lakes that can be hit or miss. I have been out there where the fishing is on for lakers & cutthroats. You can get a good report one day and the next nothing. One of my best style lures I fish with these days is Lyman lures.
They are pricey coming out of Canada plus shipping but a must in my arsenal. But I find more trips are a waist in gas driving 2hrs to get there. It is a very beautiful lake with its surroundings and the drive thru Logan Canyon offers up one of the best sceneries this country has to offer. I love the spring time with all of the greenery coming in and the fall with all of its natural fall foilage colors. Bear L is a lake I won't venture into during summer months for it is a favorite for other heavy recreational activities. It is a large lake but can be very dangerous when the weather is not of favorable conditions.
