Hi everyone,

A buddy of mine from Pocatello told me about this forum and said it was a good place to start looking for help.

I just bought a boat this week and have alway loved fishing and really want to get back into it. Unfortunately, I've only fished out of a boat a couple times my entire life with my grandpa when I was a kid. So, I'm truly a novice and could really use some help.

Any advice on setup (not looking for people's secrets), places to go, boating tips, etc...I would be forever in your debt. Would love to meet up with someone on the lake or find some new fishing buddies. I'm new to the Boise area when it comes to fishing.

Thanks,

Eren

Good advice above. You can start out pretty simple with a gang troll--I like Jack Lloyd's 2-blade in silver--add a wedding ring, and a little worm if out for trout, or shoepeg corn if fishing for kokes, and use lead-core line. You can then gradually add hoochies for kokes, and a variety of lures for trout. But if wanting to start out simpley, the above will do. Good fishing,
Mike
