So my son Nick and I had plans to fish with Big John from work on the 26th. We talked on the phone on the 25th to make the final plans. His words to me was "fishing is SLOW". We show up at 5:30 am and get our safety talk and then off we go. We run about 20 miles, and I am only hoping to get my son his first king in the big pond. Just after we start my kid starts chumming, I think not good! I did not take long and we released his first westport king, under 24". Shortly after he loses a hatchery coho at the boat and gets the name of cracker chumly. A few fish later he punches his card with his first wesport king and then nap time. So big John and I are doing work. Getting fish here and there. At one point we double up, I look at John and say "so fishing is slow"? And his reply is "yep". We almost had a total of 3 doubles and boated about 24 salmon. None of the fish were big, but it does not matter to me at all! I got to fish with my son, did not matter if it was 4" bluegill or 9" kokanee. We had fun! We cut the trip short because someone had to be at drivers ed at 3:30. On the way home my son says "If I could do it again tomorrow I would". And i'm thinking after chumming he would do it again, WOW!

Nice report, if your son came back and caught fish after blowing chunks AND is willing to go the next day he's got the right attitude! Bob R
