Took my friend Ralph to New Melones today and fished the spillway, dam area, south coves and the forty-nine bridge. The best spot was the forty-nine bridge. Pink @ 45ft. for cookie cutter thirteen inchers. We had a great time, but no big fish. That's all I have to report. Go straight to the bridge and use short 20ft. setbacks at 45-50ft with garlic corn for the best results. Just east of the bridge there is an under water island that comes up to about twenty feet so watch your depth finder. If you troll in the deep water around the edge of that island you will have non-stop pole shaking action. There is a ton of thirteen inch kokes in that area to practice on. Good Luck!
