First off, thanks to all who sent p/m's back to me. The information is much appreciated.

I have another question. I'm in between boats at the moment. I sold my 2011 18' Alumacraft with 115 Yami 4-stroke last fall with plans on getting my dream boat (618 Ranger tiller) this spring. Well, my plan swung a bit off course, and my new boat won't happen until this fall or winter.

I'll go crazy without having access to a real boat so on to plan "B" for the summer...

I have a 12' deep v-aluminum boat (duck boat) with a 6 hp outboard. It does have rod holders and a fishfinder/GPS on it. I've never used it on a larger lake, mostly just duck ponds and rivers. Is this enough boat to take out on Lucky Peak or Arrowrock? Obviously, the wind forecast needs to be taken into consideration...

It's sad really. Should have kept my Alumacraft until I was ready to pull the trigger on the Ranger.
Old boat:

Boat I plan on using the next couple months...

Any thoughts? Any insight will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Andy

Your good for AR or LP just be careful at Cascade, Watch the weather and only hit it when there is low winds.Cascade blows everday in the afternoon so I would be careful there and at Strike.

you'll be fine on the 12' boat, on lucky peak you will see some decent waves from the big pleasure boats but a little balancing and maneuvering will take care of that, lots of folks on kff use 12' and 14' boats and do quite well long-lining all year long

that johnson motor looks like its in showroom condition, do you know if it trolls down nice and slow?
