now I am ready to tig weld the skeg to the base. all jigged up and ready to tig.

now test fit just used zip ties for that.

here it is with a ruff polish to get all the weld and grime off. side view

now I have to mount the trolling motor using my anchor nest as the receiver. dfly

steelhead, making them this way is defiantly overkill but it is nice piece to look at and I like to be creative, drawing it out setting up the lathe and turning down the grooves didn't take to much time, programing the DRO setting up the mill and the mill work was the bulk of the time. you can only go as fast as the mill will cut. then cutting the fin, setting up the tig and jig then welding wasn't too bad along with the ruff polish all total it took 7 hrs. start to finish, vs. cut a piece of tube and weld the wing to it and call it good works as well. just maybe not as pretty. dfly
