1st day out on blue mesa and fishing was tough. we did not boat any kokanee, but did get 2 decant rainbows. we did have one koke get off, but that was the only one that tried to help out. the lake is way up from last year. i think the ranger said it is only 15' low right now. water is still flowing in at a good rate. the water temp was 56 and a little off color over most of where we went.

Looks like a brown trout from the picture. With the off colored water, try running flashers (cowbells, etc) off of your downrigger ball and a short set back (6 - 15 feet) behind that. I've been catching fish with a 10 foot set back in only 6 - 14 feet of water and can often see kokes following the flashers on the depthfinder.

we went to taylor res. yesterday and caught some rainbows and lakers. none of the lakers was over 20''. it is supposed to rain today, so i am working on my ice machine and getting all my tackle back in order for thursday.
