A fair warning. There is sooooo much plant matter/algae in Berryessa right now. I personally have never seen it this bad. Does anyone know what the deal is? I just got home from a very frustrating trip.

Made a scouting trip in early March. All of the lake was clouded with suspended algae and large sections were carpeted solid on the surface. I was planning on going out this Tuesday but it sounds like things haven't improved. Should I save the gas and wait it out?

Hey Rocket
Hard to say if it's worth the gas money. The slow fishing and lines LOADED with green stuff drove me nuts, but I frustrate pretty easy :-D

Launched at Markley today and fished the dam area. The water had a fair amount of algae but much better than the main lake.
