We went to Berryessa yesterday (July 8) after being out of town for a few weeks. Went to the Big Island and saw no other boats. Last time we were out, this area was very busy. Fished for an hour and then moved to the mouth of The Narrows and the waters just south. Began marking fish immediately and managed to bring in a nice koke just under 18" and a rainbow of about the same size. (Picture below.) Had to leave early but were glad to have some respectable fish in the box.
What's the word? Are the fish moving toward The Narrows? This is only my 2nd year up here and I'm trying to remember when we started doing better in The Narrows and working toward the dam. It seems we eventually did all our late-season fishing at the dam.
