Went up to Manila Friday and found they still have lots of snow and ice. So I did a few things around the house and loaded the ice fishing gear in the tuck.
Woke up Saturday morning and headed to meet a friend at Anvil. We jumped on his four wheeler and headed north and stopped and got set up in 80 ft of water. We got 2 macs to the hard deck and I broke one off and had another pop off right at the hole.
Sunday I went out with a different guy and we just walked out of Anvil and got set up in 80 feet of water. This guy had never mac fished a day in his life. I was able too get a few fish in the teens out of the hole. After missing three bites my freind was finally able to lay the steal to a good fish, after some coaching we where able to get it out of the hole for some pics and sent it back
All in all it was a great trip.
Now for the bad news the ice still seems to be growing and I would guess it's close to 40 inches thick and I don't see it going away very fast.
