    Just getting started, new to Kokanee fishing - what line weight?

    I have tried to use mono for the main line, but after a few times trolling the mono always wants to twist on my outfits, no matter how many swivels I put on. Went to 8# braid with 8# Maxima leader ( about four feet or so) , put that on the custom 7 1/2 ultra ultra light rod, whaaa hooooo...

    What Rods Are We Using For Koknee?

    Jc I have been building a few kokanee rods using the batson blanks, mostly the 7 and 7 1/2 feet. 2 piece. Anyway, been using the Batson blanks for my bass, steelhead and salmon rods. I think they are as good as anything out there. IMO.

    Found this little guy in the Snake River above Swan Falls a week ago. around 7 feet, and took about 40 minutes to land in the boat.

    kok-head all the fish were in the 15 to 17 inch range. not a bad size for LP this early, in my opinion. Conservationist, You were using green, Bright green, Light green, ??? I do not seem to have any luck using green. No confidence in the color i guess.

    Launched about 130 a Spring shores, idle out and drop the gear, hooked first fish about 10 minutes later. not a bad start. dr's at 29 and 19, running 4 inch dodgers with orange hoochies on one side of the boat, and Sling blades with orange/white hoochies on other side of the boat. Had fun...
