An awesome week at Cedar Springs 8/3-8/10

I also forgot to add that we we're never on the water before 8:30am and we we're able to catch fish consistently at any hour during the day. Even during heavy boat traffic on saturday afternoon. (which is when we caught our biggest fish)

An awesome week at Cedar Springs 8/3-8/10

What a great place the Gorge is! We had such a great time and caught a TON of feesh! The week started a bit slow as we needed to journey around to find a good bite but we still caught 3 kokes and a few trout. The biggest fish was caught by my brother and it made me realize that our boat needs a...

    Berry kokes 7-27

We've been in a kokanee drought for several trips this month at the Berry. We kept hearing lots of great reports but all we could catch we're cutthroat. (Not that Catching lot's of cutts are a bad thing) I'm happy to say that we finally ran into a few last sunday right in the middle of Soldier...

Looking for feedback… Pop gear attached to rigger ball

Thank you sir! Much appreciated as usual! I have read some of Phil's stuff online and I find his theories great! I think it's a very logical way to approach fishing. Although I can't remember the last time I used a lure without some sort of dodger in front of it. And… I've never used an apex...

Looking for feedback… Pop gear attached to rigger ball

We often fish with set of large pop gear attached to the dowrigger ball, then put our dodger/lure on a stacker a few feet above and several feet behind the pop gear. I've heard some theories about how the pop gear can attract predator fish and scare away the kokes? I've also read of people...

Kokanee and a bit of worm

We use "small" pieces of night crawlers tipped on our squids and spinners with good success at Strawberry and Flaming gorge. Usually we'll put gulp on one side and crawlers on the other and both seem to work good.

Slow Weekend at the Gorge 6-27 and 6-28

I didn't do very well thursday or friday either from lucurne. But by Saturday I decided to run some lines at 15-25 and started catching them. The previous 2 days I was much deeper. Also… Thursday I met 2 guys at the fish cleaning station with 6 very nice jokes and a few rainbows. They we're...

Need help with VHF Marine Radio

You'll want to monitor channel 16 (emergency channel) if it's a non emergency you'll want to ask who your talking to to change to another channel. If you look in your owners manual for the radio it will give a list of specific channels designated for certain purposes. Also, some channels will...

    The berry on Fathers day

I thought we did pretty darn well at Strawberry last sunday until I read mtncat1's post. I'm gonna be following that guy around if I see him! But we still had fun… We caught a rainbow and 7 cutts in the main strawberry bay area. Then made a trip to soldier creek and nailed 1 koke before the...

    The Berry Over Memorial

Looks like a killer time... Those koks look nice and healthy. I'll be up there this weekend. What we're you using? Our best lure has been a red and green wedding ring with a silver spinner behind just about any dodger.
