A quick report a week late for Berryessa. We went the Sunday of Memorial day weekend. In the end it was a slow day and we only ended up with 5 from 13-15 inches from 20-25 feet mainly on Hoochies and a few Assassin spinners. It seemed like there were only about 10 boats total fishing...

Coincidentally that's my setup. It's a bit of an art to get everything setup just right bit You can use a Vance's style clip right above the camera and rubber band it to the top of the camera...near the lens. Then the trick is you can't load the rod very much otherwise it will lift your setup...

Definitely check out the Diamond Dees, they advertise to use them in-line with your gear which I'm sure will work. Us Kalyfornians seem to be adverse to having flashers inline so we put them on the ball. Kevin

Hey Monte - looks like I forgot to edit out my secret weapon in the video, :-) Nah...no secret there... Those are Diamond Dees Flashers that I like to attach to the ball or sometimes inline with the snap and clip. They are a slow turning flasher with some other interesting properties...

If there is any question about Kokanee not being line shy then just watch the U/W videos I put together. Those fish are within 2 feet of the cable and to be honest that line gets bit just as much as the others that have longer setbacks once the secret lure for the day is unlocked. Pretty much...

Fished the PK Derby with Jenna and had a great time and talked with number of Kokanee fishing friends. The fishing was not red hot but came in waves for us that kept us plenty busy. The lake is so full this year that it is spilling over at the spillway and you can hear the water roaring over...

I finally made the first Kokanee trip of the year to Berryessa with my daughter and we had a great time battling big fish. In the end we kept 6 nice Kokes from 14.5 to 16.75 and lost just as many to aerials and battles before they got to the net. There were a number of smaller fish rattling...
