    Using flashers (rotating) for Kokes

I have used the 8 inch Pro-troll flashers in the past for macks and browns, but have had very little success with them for kokanee. A friend of mine uses 11 inch flashers for kokanee fishing and does really well, but I have never had much success with anything that big. I try to stick to 3 to...

    fishfinders

These were not the clamp on style. They were in black hard cases and used a 6 volt battery for power. They pop up and look just like a Hummingbird fish finder and the transducer attached to the boat with a suction cup. They were the best portable fishfinders I could find at the time according...

Kelkokekiller, J=Bear & Maddie knock them dead at Flaming gorge

That is great trip with some awesome fishtooexcited I watched a father trolling with his kids a few weeks ago and he let them reel in every single fish they caught and let another net it. It is great to see parents passing down their enthusiasm for fishing to their kids. Looks like we have a...

    fishfinders

I have had 2 hummingbird portable fishfinders and both were garbage. Neither one of them worked at all. They both had be sent back for warranty work and the factory replaced several parts, even the transducers, and they still didn't work. Both had the same problem - they showed hundreds of...

According to the record books, the largest kokanee caught while angling was in 1986 at Spinney Mountain Reservoir. It weighed 6 lbs 13 oz and was 27.5 inches long. The largest kokanee caught while snagging was in 2002 at Blue Mesa. It weighed 7 lbs 5 oz and was 27 inches long. These are...

    blue 8/9

Good job guys. It was tough fishing earlier in the week, but sounds like the fish cooperated better for you than me. Hopefully the fish will start schooling up in the next couple of weeks to make it a little easier.

    Blue Mesa 8/5

Bobco, You are the closest one to the lake and if you could keep us informed weekly on what is happening with the fishing that would be great. I plan on going back down in 2 to 3 weeks if the fish start schooling for one last trip for the year. Everyone I have talked to is done for the year...

    Blue Mesa 8/5

My father, a friend, and I fished Blue Mesa on 8/5 from Elk Creek Marina. We trolled west out of the marina through the canyon heading towards Iron Works. We picked up 2 browns and 2 kokes by the end of the canyon at 42 feet. The next fish came 3 hours later near Iron Works at 35 feet. The...

Road to Sqauw Hollow I was down it a couple of weeks ago and it wasn't bad at all. There are small wash-boards, but fairly smooth.

    Good Sunscreen for Fishing?

Has anyone found a good sunscreen for fishermen? I use it a lot and always wash my hands with soap and then Germ-ex them so that I don't get any of the scent or oil on my fishing gear. I am looking for something odorless or close to it.

    fg 25th and 26th.

Good job Jiggit. Nice to see a fellow fisherman help you out with lures and a place to fish. When we were there 2 weeks ago, we couldn't locate any schools in that area. We tried to find them for 3 days, but couldn't locate them. We did alright trolling, but it sounds like I need to go...
