    It's Finally Taking Shape

WOW! That is a great looking boat. I can't wait to see more pictures when you get it home!

    tackle management

So far... (OCD) I have found that I like to use the short snack size ziplock baggies to hold lures and dodgers. If I find a combo that works well together I just bag them up together and put them in a little plastic tool box. I find it easy to sort through them when I am in a hurry to find the...

How do you measure your leaders?

When I started researching kokanee I understood the general rule to be two and half times the length of your dodger. I have seen articles where they had them as long as 43 inches (below). MY general rule... Never measure (especially in front of another fisherman). I like to start out a new...

    mounting tracks

And those brackets are kinda spendy... Cool. But spendy. Holes are way cheaper :)

Do you mean that black tape that has the no slip sanded texture?

    the oregon spotsman show

SuperD- The new boat will have a spray down right next to where I am thinking of adding the board on the rear of the boat. I like the idea of tapping into it and having its own water but I will probably test it out with just the existing hose at first. Give it a few runs then tweak it. I am...

    the oregon spotsman show

That's one I haven't seen yet. I like that it has a drain to get the gunk off your boat. I have seen some decent boards but not many that have the gunk hose.

    the oregon spotsman show

I took Friday off and drove to the Portland show from Bellingham. It took a while to get there but wasn't terrible. I made it through the snow around 1pm. I picked up a couple rods, a couple reels and met with tons of venders. I think I found someone to build me the cleaning table I want to...

    Using "pee-wee hoochies"

Pictures of the micro hoochies. Packaged ones are the ones I just bought. The open ones are made on the boat or by my fishing buddy.

What Rods Are We Using For Koknee?

The Fisherman's Marine and Outdoor booth in Portland had a bunch of the JJ rods on sale. Red or White for 49.99. I have two white ones already so I picked up two in red. I also picked up a couple cold water reels. I use one on a Fetha Styx rod I have and really really like them together.

    Using "pee-wee hoochies"

I used them a lot last summer. The micros work well when big presentations aren't getting hit. I made my own with some glow beads on either side. I just picked up some at the Portland show from Crystal Basin Tackle. They have pre tied and complete micros spinners. I am partial to the pink or the...

    Which boat would you buy?

Well, looks like I am going to the Sportsman show tomorrow morning... It wasn't that hard to talk myself into I guess. Looks like that price per pound is subject to change (rapidly)...

    Which boat would you buy?

The dealer responded to an e-mail saying it had to be a Garmin. I think that was the lazy answer and not the correct one. I may venture to the Sportsman show in Portland this weekend and talk to someone that knows electronics better. Can't decide if it is worth a 4 hour drive though. I guess I...

    Which boat would you buy?

Dfly, Thanks for the response. I would like the option of using the chart plotter to track routes. I fish a lot of the same areas over and over. I have an HDS-5 now but was going to let it go with the boat when it gets traded in. I can't say I am overly excited about it. I am eyeballing the...

    Which boat would you buy?

So my brain is over thinking electronics today. I am going to put my one year old Humminbird 1198si on the new boat. When we discussed putting the bow trolling motor on I specified the I-Pilot LINK. I know it will work with the 1198 no problem. The thing that I am stuck on is whether the TR-1...

    You make the call!

I like the bottom one too. I would build both just so I didn't regret it later...

    Uncle Norm Fin

Has anyone seen or used on of the "Uncle Norm" fins for the main and/or trolling motor? I added a link at the bottom. There is a short youtube video as well on the site. Looks kind of interesting. I am thinking it would have some of the basic benefits of the Mac prop guard but maybe assist with...

    Which boat would you buy?

"De-rigging" the old boat today... It is actually a sad process. Lot's of good trips in this boat. She has been very forgiving during the learning process and always got me home. Not to mention (ok I will) she has produced tons of limits of Kokanee and salmon for me and my fishing buddy. Feels...
