2017 Dworshak Reservoir Kokanee Fishing Report

Couple of questions for first time visit Hello- My wife and I are heading up to Dworshak on Monday, it will be our first time there. We are camping at the state park, and will be bringing a truck camper and an 18' boat. I had a few questions that I was hoping someone could help with: -Is...

2017 Lucky Peak Reservoir Kokanee Fishing Report

Fished with my father-in-law from 11 to 3pm yesterday (5/31). Water 58-62 deg, depending on where I was, and still stained. Tried across from Spring Shore into the narrows, then Gooseneck area. 5 trout, but no kokes.

2017 Lucky Peak Reservoir Kokanee Fishing Report

Fished LP on Monday from 9 to noon near the dam. Caught 2 kokes, 14-15". Both on pink hoochies and dodgers. One at 10' deep, the other while letting out the pole. Beautiful morning when we started, but then the wind came up and it cooled off (and the bite stopped for us). Lots of debris in...

No, I never got that far down. Sounds like it may be worth a try though.

2017 Anderson Ranch Reservoir Kokanee Fishing Report

Fished Anderson Ranch on 5/4 and 5/5, from Curlew down to the first big creek (name?). The camping was good but the fishing not so much. Water was murky, and in the low 50's. There is a lot of debris in the lake, including some rather large logs to watch for. We caught three smallish (12"...

2017 Anderson Ranch Reservoir Kokanee Fishing Report

I went to the kokanee seminar at Sportsman's in Nampa last Sat. The gentleman from Kokabow did a good job and had a lot of interesting info. He said Anderson will probably take another year before it gets good again. Also, they did a fin clip survey and found out that a lot of Arrowrock's...

2017 Lucky Peak Reservoir Kokanee Fishing Report

Took the grandson (4 yrs) out for a quick trip Tue afternoon in my 14' Gregor (having a cover made for my Hewescraft). Nice day but a little windy; water was 38.2 deg. Lost one on a night crawler right off the Spring Shores launch ramp. Spoke to another fisherman who caught (and released)...

2013-2016 Idaho Kokanee Fishing Reports Quick Links

Camped/fished Anderson Ranch from the afternoon of W/5/25 through the morning of F/5/27. Ended up with a total of 12 kokes and one trout. Mornings were slow for us, we did better in the afternoons. Found the most fish off of Curlew, near the white buoy. Top producer was a pink hoochie behind...

2013-2016 Idaho Kokanee Fishing Reports Quick Links

Fished on Th and caught four kokes across from Curlew, surface to about 5' deep. All were caught in about 10 minutes, around 8:00 am. No bites after that. Two were on dodger and home made bead spinner with night crawler, and two on dodger with pink hoochie with plain shoepeg corn. Most...

G3, thanks for the tip on Okumas. Now that I think of it, I have one that I got in a trade a few years back but never used. I'll have to take it out. Physion, do you have a specific model of rod mounted line counter that you would recommend?

Quick question for you "Longliners": Do you use a line counter reel or a pole mounted line counter? I have always used lead core with a 50' mono lead for 0 to 15' deep, then downriggers below that. I wanted to set up a pole just for longlining, and was looking at the smaller line counter...

I found his book on Amazon under the title: The Master Angler. Not sure it is the same one referred to. They are out of stock now, but it looks like it is available used. Years ago I read another book called: What Fish See, by Colin Kageyama. Interesting read.

I've only camped at Curlew, during the week. I know there are more camping spots further up the lake, and on the other side, but I've never used them.

No, we didn't take photos. I thought it might be a chinook, but it looked "identical" to the smaller kokes that we caught (and I'm no fish expert). My buddy kept that fish and said the meat was bright pink, just like the kokes, but I'm still not sure sure it wasn't a chinook. It was the first...

Fished Anderson Ranch for the first time, on Th. Fished between Lime Creek and Wood Creek. Caught 5 kokes between 7:30 and 12:30, then the wind and clouds came in and the bite (at least for me) died. We caught all the fish between 15' and about 20', misc gear (pink spoons, bead spinners-- all...
