Really can't fish that corner well once the ski boats start regularly. Better fish it while we can

Hi, Blue Custom Weld WW Special (w/2 chocolate labs). the other two boats were a white thunder jet with really high sides, and a red jet boat (northwest I believe).

Finally hit 'em good today. Hit the lake at the crack of 10:00. In a 2 hour period we hooked 12 and boated 8, all within an inch of 14". Kind of skinny compared to summer fish but happy to get them. Water has cleared some. 44 degrees. Black and red seemed to be the best colors. All fish hooked...

LP 6/1/2014 We were on just after 6:00 yesterday. Predator (post below) was the only boat we saw on the water when we put in. Did pretty well until 8:00 when it shut off for a while. Like some of the posters below, I also seem to do better when I stay away from the big pack of boats. That said...

Lucky Peak is a good example of a potentially great fishery that is just too close to town. That is about the only way I can make sense of it. Just moving up the road to Arrowrock makes a big difference. I seem to have a post every year about the guys loading and unloading, mostly near the dam...

    2013 Lucky Peak Fishing Thread

This has been the story of 2013 for us. We have put been releasing the 13" and keeping the 15-18" all year. One day the week after the 4th of July we released over 100 of the 13s trying to get to 2 limits of the bigger fish, We gave up after 10 nice ones and went home with 2 of the smaller to...

You guys are killing me with this shallow talk. I have not caught a kok shallower than 28 for over two weeks, and fishing is GOOD. If you have been waiting, it's on.

Fished from 8 until 1 today. Hooked 9, landed 3. I need to work on multiple hookup and netting technique. All fish approx 15 inches. The rain kept the circus at Turner to a minimum.

Every time I see a roller trailer I think about that. Boats on roller trailers also seem, in my experience, to take much longer to load and unload than bunk style trailers, but that may have to do who is involved as well. The circus at Turner was in full display yesterday. We did catch a few...

Picked up 12 nice big ones Friday and 12 again on Saturday. Having to work for them. About one of every three fish caught is keeper size. Of the 24 total, 10 were 20 inches (I thought) but when I actually measured them, they are just over 17 inches, the rest over 15 inches - really nice fish...

Sunday at LP Fished LP on Sunday. Caught over 20 kokes, but only 3 over 12", turned the rest loose. Failed to leave before the idiots overtook the boat ramp at Turner. They really need to pull that center dock out of there. Picture this: Two idiots tied their boats to the dock, one on each...

Blackmouth They call chinooks blackmouths for that reason. We have caught some in the 3 lb range in the past, but it has been a while

    Lucky Peak Kokes 2011

Thursday Fished Thursday evening after work. Only ended up with a couple of keepers (14 inch). we caught 10 or so of the small koks- which I think are next year's spawning class. We turned them all loose. In the past we have occasionally run into these, but this is the second time this year...

cont Forgot to add, when I finally got my trailer in, the guy launching in the next lane backed all the way to the water- and still had his cover on!

    Lucky Peak Kokes 2011

Boat Launch That ramp at Turner Gulch is a constant source of frustration. We often refer to it as the idiot's ramp (yes i use it) More often than not it is just as described above, where people's blatant disregard for their surroundings and others causes the problems. I can't believe the...

    Lucky Peak Kokes 2011

Lucky Peak We fished LP weekend before last. Water was 35 degrees. Could not run up to the canyon due to ice. We caught 4 by the dam. I'll let it get a little warmer and the ice be gone before I get too serious about it.
