    Merwin 2010 Reports

Merwin 05-16 We fished Merwin Sunday 05-16. 3 people, 4 rods all on downriggers. We started off very early with what has been working and lots of other stuff. Fished from 10’ down to 40’ and by 1300 we had 28 fish. Unfortunately, 27 of them were small Squawfish. More on those later. In...

    New State and U.S. Record

Congratulations! If you followed IGFA guidelines that would also be a line class WORLD RECORD in any line class!

    Kicker motor suggestions

I have always had Mercury kickers. 8, then 9.9 and then 15HP 2 strokes. The last 2 boats have had 9.9 4 strokes. I found the 4 strokes to be very cold blooded. On my last boat, a 22' V8 inboard jet, I had a 9.9 bigfoot. Wide open it would push the boat 5 mph. When I was looking for a new...

    Merwin 2010 Reports

I don't have a frame of reference as all the Kokanees I've caught, and eaten, came from Merwin. I'll be interesetd to see what others say.

    Merwin 2010 Reports

Skookum9, Thanks for the jigging info. All this time I was thinking you were vertical jigging on suspended fish, not casting. That's the kind of info that makes this site so cool.

    Merwin 2010 Reports

4-25-10 My wife and I hit the water at 0700 and had 6 fish in the first hour.....then it took us the rest of the day to get the other 4 plus several dinks. BEAUTIFUL weather. 15'-18' feet on the downrigger. All the keepers were 12"-13" and fat.

    Colored Downrigger weights

At Merwin last Sunday with the ball at 10' I could not see them, even with Polaroid sunglasses with the tip of the release, which is Chartreuse, was clearly visible.

    Merwin 2010 Reports

Merwin 04-11-10 My wife and I fished Merwin today, for the first time. In the water about 0700. Tried green and chartreuse spinners and Apexes, at varying depths with no luck. Switched to a red Apex and a homemade red hoochie spinner at 1000 and we started catching fish. Wound up with 12...

    New Oregon State Record Kokanee

The interesting thing about this is that if IGFA requirements had been met it would eclipse the largest line class WORLD RECORD Kokanee by MORE THAN TWO POUNDS!

    under or over

No, if you're anything like me, then it will be time for a new boat! The only problem with mounting stuff under the dash is they can turn into "knee magnets". This can be hard on both the electronics and the knees!!

    Flaming Gorge in September?

Hello, I'm new here so I hope this is the right place for this. My wife and I just sold our boat and have a new one on order but it won't be done until November. We're thinking about gong to FG the week after Labor day. 2 questions...1-Is the Koke fishing still OK that late? 2-If yes, can...
