    Ice conditions at Flaming Gorge

We were fishing from shore near Anvil Draw today and the temp got up to the low 50s. Don't think that much ice will form in those conditions. The rainbows were biting pretty good. We caught 10 and kept 6. We were using marshmallows and worms for bait. Regards, Keith

    Water Temp

We went fishing yesterday November 9. We launched at Buckboard and went north. At launching time air temp was 17 degrees F and the water was 49. With the cold air temperature there was dense fog but as the air warmed up the fog was gone and after that there was bright sun and very comfortable...

    Water Temp

This morning at 7:30 AM at Buckboard the water temp was 54.5 degrees and went up to almost 57 later. The rainbows were very active and we caught some nice ones with the largest measuring 22.5 inches. What worked for us was small jointed Rapala Shad Rap. Regards

    Water Temp

The water this morning north of Buckboard early was 58 degrees and went up to 60 later on. The rainbow fishing was pretty good and we kept 6. Upon arriving back at Buckboard at the boat ramp there were several red kokanees right at the ramp. I have never seen them there before. Regards, Keith

    Rapalas

Rapalas are working very well on the Gorge at this time. We went fishing north of Buck Board both October 25 and yesterday November 2 using only Rapala Shad Raps and Rapala jointed for lures and knocked them dead both days. On October 25 we had a limit [8] of rainbows with 5 VERY nice fish and...

    Probably The Last Kokanee

Tuesday of last week we were fishing about 1/2 mile south of the pipeline at the mouth of that big canyon on the west side. We had a pop-gear and worm down 20 feet off the down rigger and caught a beautiful male koke. His color was beautiful. Well anyway reeled him in and saw that the single...

    Ice report

I was at Buckboard about 2 weeks ago and at the launch ramp there was about 200 yards of water before reaching the ice. It's probably out further now. Keith

    Favorite colors for flaming gorge

I know that this goes against what a lot of people say but through out the month of August RMT dodgers and their white or green and white squid lures worked very well for me. For some unknown reason the highly recommended pink didn't work very good at all. Regards, Keith

    UV Question

I am a new guy here and have a question. On most of the RMT tackle it is indicated to be UV sensetive. My question is "is it common practice to apply a UV light before beginning to fish with this equipment"? Thanks and Regards, Keith
