    Boat Trailer wheel bearing question

FWIW..... I do my own servicing because I've seen how the so called "pro's" do it. Since I started doing it myself I've never had an issue. Make sure you get a marine seal. It has a double lip with a spring on the inside of the seal. There is a difference. I grease the bearings and then...

    Green Peter report

I just got home from a long weekend up there. Boated 31 on Saturday and 9 on Friday. Lost a lot fish at the boat. Pretty much the same as Robin mentioned about the depth and size of fish. Lot of dinks with some big fatties thrown in there. What worked for us was silver/red or pearl pink spin...

Use my Traeger or buy a Little Chief for smoking?

+1 Had a Big Chief and just gave it way once I got a Traeger. The Traeger smokes at 180f...at least mine does. Perfect. Kokes take about 90 to 105min. Salmon 2 -3 hours.

    Which Wheel Bearing Grease?

I use Chevron Delo EP NLGL2. Seems to be good stuff. I do a re-pack and new seals every 18-24mo. Oil bath is good too. I've done a couple conversions using the liqua-lube product and had good results. I'd have them now but they don't make a kit big enough for my trailer.

    "headlights" for boats?

I would agree. My last boat had remote "Go Lights" on the roof. I thought they'ed be great if I just pointed them at an up angle and off to the side to illuminate the river bank. They were worthless imo. My current boat has none. I have run rivers in the dark a lot during springer season...

    Leader material

I would agree regarding the stuff made a few years ago but not with what's on todays market. Didn't Berkley have some Flouro line called "Vanish" and the joke was that it makes your fish dissappear. laugh hyst I've caught plenty of chinook with flouro leader (p-line and Seaguar) that I have...

    Leader material

I'll go against the grain...I use 8 or 10lb flouro for kokes. Maybe they are not leader shy...but then maybe at times they can be. I don't get out as often as I'd like so I'll use anything I perceive as an advantage I can. I've gone to using flouro for salmon and steelhead as well. 2cents

    Gas prices, what's your plans???

I ain't the Hamilton's fault. Dang big block anyhow...been there done that. 101wave2101 I usually don't ask my buddies for fuel money since most of the time I'm going to go whether they are with me or not. I have a pretty short crew roster and usually they will pony up a few bucks without...

    Gas prices, what's your plans???

I'll probably keep going regardless of the fuel costs. I didn't change much back in 08 when fuel was over $4/gal. Fortunately, my tub doesn't use "that" much fuel but getting her to the water is what costs. GP is 200 mile round trip. I'll likely not do other things however to make up for it...

    Describe your Ultimate Kokanee Boat

Like most here what I have seems to fit the bill. It's not perfect (they are all a compromise) but my tub does a lot of things. Looking forward to year #2. I've already been preparing gear and just ordered another downrigger (#3). rolleyes

Anchoring, Sturgeon Fishing, Boat Launching and Bikini Watching

There are a couple different "mechanisms" on the market. They have a slot that runs diagnally to the rope and there is a bolt that runs through the slots. The rope passes through the mechanism and over or under the bolt. The bolt allows the anchor ball to only move in one direction, to the...

    Another boat questions

Oh I don't know about that. Depends on how big you go and how deep your pocket book is. rolleyes At 24' and an engine I can walk completely around it fishes pretty well. 4 guys is no problem. I've had a few boats, ob's, sportjet, high deck, and now a walk around. For my use an inboard works...

    Another boat questions

Nope. For an inboard like a small block 350, it's more about how much HP is needed to push a certain amount of weight taking into account the impeller pitch. Rarely do you run at max HP. That will chew through some fuel. Most inboards max out at 4000 to 4400 rpm and cruise at around 3200 if...

    Green Peter 2010

Fished from the 22nd to the 25th. 40 to 50 feet of depth around the island was where I did best. UV sling blade was the best producer for me with an assortment of hoochies. Got a few on some R&K spinner rigs when things would slow later in the morning. A buddy boat did well with ford fenders...

    Thanks Ric of Kokaneemart.com

+1 I ordered a bunch of stuff a few weeks ago and got it in just a few days. He even threw in an extra sling blade because one that I asked for was out of stock.

County Developing Plan for Green Peter.

Keep in mind that what this plan will do is lay the ground work for future improvements. I will also emphasize the importance to at least provide comments and ideas if can't attend the meeting. If improvements are outlined in a master plan, it will make it easier for Linn Co to apply for and...
