    Nantahala

Hey Russ,Early to midsummer is usually pretty consistent. The fishing should hold all summer ,but brutally hot weather killed the koke fishing in late summer over the late few years. I don't get out to Nantahala as often as I'd like, but I would eventually like to see some red fish at the...

Because we're lucky, not wild about that sort of pressure. I wish we had more koke lakes, but no such luck. Our kokes are wild from, plantings in 59-64. The state doesn't actively manage them, but thankfully the spawning grounds are on private property. That protection gives them a chance to spawn...

    Last Koke of the Season

Hey Ron, Thanks for the comparitive info.I bet Wolf and Bear would be great koke lakes, but that ain't going to happen. Let me know if you try Queens and what the ramp is like. Also consider Calderwood or Cheoah .A few years back in Oct we caught some nice rainbows and a brookie up to 19".We...

    How often do switch gear

Man that is mighty impressive I can't believe you can even set any lines with little guys on board. My 19 month old Grandson is hands on everything, he loves the boat ,but we haven't braved fishing yet.

    How often do switch gear

On a good day I change whenever the kokes/trout shred my leader. On tough days I also stick with what I think will work.I tend to stick with stuff that ain't working until late in the day, then start switching drastically. So I end tough days with frantic frustrating lure changes and telling...

    Last Koke of the Season

Ron, I like that dodger hootchie set-up. Those little dodgers have sweet action. That koke was about the length of the one we got Sat but ours was skinnier( may have been the real West Hill visitor). TM

    Scent Storage?

Thanks guys,an airtight container would take care of things.I usually keep crawlers in my little fridge in the fishroom ,I'll just make room for a small scent box. I had some crawlers escape in the big fridge crisper one time ,so I'm on thin ice with my wife when I store weird stuff. How long...

    Scent Storage?

How do y'all store your fish scents? I 'm bad to forget and leave it in my boat for the next trip, which sometimes is longer than I planned. Also had a bottle of trout gravy pop in the boat while I was gone on vacation.
