I have no thoughts on this that make any sense. I do not doubt what you are saying, but it all does not make sense based on my experiences and my understanding of Kokanee. I admit I have not fished for them for a long time. Maybe 4 to 5 years now is all.
I fished in the Curlew area on Friday and Saturday. Fished the equivalent of about 1 full day over those 2 days. Didn't hit it too hard, nor did I keep track of how many (exactly) I caught.

Is this helpful website helpful? Not having been to the ranch in about a month, I have an opinion, but take it with a grain of salt.

Fished from Curlew down to Fall creek area then ran back at speed. Got several SMB, 1 perch, 1 rainbow, and about 8 kokes (brother took them, didn't get a final count). Most of the kokes were in really good shape and around 11-12 inches.

Like I think I said earlier. Too each their own. Also, I can make very sharp turns and get my line back in the water and at depth faster than I can get the hooks out of the one I just caught. If you're happy with a dr I'm happy for you. Shouldn't you feel the same for me?
I've seen how the guys...
