    Kokanee Power Wickiup Derby 7/23

I just have to say, Great Job Brian! Everyone had a great time (including myself) and caught a lot of the scrappiest fish in the state. The lake was pretty close to full pool during the first part of the event although on Sunday it was down about four feet. The fish were excellent eating as many...

    Kokanee Power Wickiup Derby 7/23

Vance just sent in some of his tackle for our raffles and prizes. I just fished his new small glow/UV hoochies on Merwin and Yale last week and they literally filled the fish box. You can view them on his new website. Gary Mirralles is also putting together an array of tackle for the derby and I...

    Northwest KFF Family Day 2011

I will be there hopefully next year. I had a seminar scheduled for that weekend so I couldn't make it. Sounds to me like a good time was had by all.

    A Kokanee scenting technique

It must be kept cool. If you are out in the boat, keep it in the cooler. When you get home put it in the fridge. It is a good idea to keep all of your scent products in the cooler. Mine are in the cooler all day long if it is warm and again they get returned to the fridge at night.

Lake Stevens how did it go sat.

Here is my buddy kokonuts with the catch of the day. Note the Vance's dodger and the pink hoochie. All I can say is fish on!

    Green Peter 5-20-11

Hey guys, this is spring fishing. You won't be seeing hardly any fish on the finder that will bite. They are in the top 30' of the water column and mostly at the surface. Long lining is the only way you are going to be putting fish in the boat on a regular basis. Last year the water was warmer...

Lake Stevens how did it go sat.

Kokonuts and I had a great time although as he stated, we got our butt's handed to us. I have been excited about getting up and fishing this derby since I heard about it last year. You guys have a great group of people and everyone was friendly and courteous. This was my first trip to Washington...

    Lake Stevens Kokanee Report...PICS

Looks like fun. Kokonuts and I plan on being up there for the derby. I am looking to meet up with a few more koke addicts! We are planning on fishing Merwin on Thursday and heading up to Stevens on Friday to do a little pre-fishing. I would like to hook up with some of you guys for a beer or two...

cresent lake results/practcing catch & release

MrMike, I prefer a cooler with a bag of ice and about six inches of water. The ice slows down the metabolism of the fish and the water keeps them alive and plump. Dragging fish around in the fish basket stresses them and drops the quality of the table fare.

GP 05-07-11 Cold Slow but had a blast

Piece of cake once you get a little practice. After you fillet a few, you won't do it any other way. I don't even gut them myself, I just fillet them leaving the gut inside the rib cage. Makes short work of cleaning and more time for enjoying the result. The kokanee kid has put myself and a few...

GP 05-07-11 Cold Slow but had a blast

I fished it last Thursday. Marked lots of fish moving into the shallows down by the dam. Lots of drive by's and a few in the boat. Opened the stomachs on the fish we landed and there was nothing in there. The fish were just coming out of semi dormancy. Moved higher up in the system and tried...

    Green Peter 4/23/2011

We hit it hard on Friday. What a nice day it was, made me almost quit my day job.... Oh yeah, that is my day job tooexcited Nice day of fishing, just not an exceptional day of catching. Boated five not counting trout. Released all of them, not enough for a good meal, but still fun to catch...
