    Green Peter Tournament 2010

Here are some photos from the derby. Chester's grandson was a hoot! Good to meet up with old friends and make some new ones. Special thanks to Brian for the use of his extra plug.

County Developing Plan for Green Peter.

Increased use would mean that the road in would definitely need repair/improvement which would be good. Increased use would also mean more crowds and more water skiers and personal water craft and probably smaller limits. Sometimes "improvements" ruin the very things they were meant to enhance...

    2010 Green Peter Thread

Fished yesterday with Robbie Thorsen of R&K. Man that guy comes up with some wild lures that really workworthy12. I was unable to use his gear because I was testing tackle from Vance's but next time out, I will sure give it a go. Copper and Pink UV dodgers followed by Glow Sockeye Slammers were...

    7-01 Green Peter

Try dropping your presentation deeper as the sun gets higher in the sky. I also avoid trolling into the shadow of my boat. Usually by ten or eleven I am fishing up to 50 or 55 feet. As you fish deeper, make sure you are using glow lures as opposed to just painted or UV lures. If the wind comes...

    Oregon Koke's...

Fishing for Kokanee is much like fishing for Steelhead. It is an obsession. You start out by catching an occasional fish. Some people give up after a couple of "learning years." Kokanee Kid has a distinct advantage over you in that his dad is an accomplished Koke angler. Be patient, invest your...

R&K's contact info is on my website under links. http://kentcannon.com/links.htm for those that don't pass through the lovely town of Sweet Home or live close, Robbie is more than happy to mail direct to his Oregon, Washington and Idaho people.

    Crescent 6-20

Sounds like a good day on the water although I am surprised that you tried it on a week end in early winter, oops I mean summer.

    Wallowa lake

Mini Hoochies I have been reviewing tackle for my upcoming book and have found some great new products. I just tried out these new mini hoochies from R&K. They are real small hoochies, maybe at the most an inch and a half long. Very delicate! I wish I had these this spring, they would have been...

    GP speed limit near ramps

I hate the wake boarders as well. Second only to that are the idiots on the personal water craft. I hate restrictions but some folks just have no consideration or common sense so restrictions are required. Sad!

    Monday Evening Wickiup Report

He told me that he wasn't coming home unless the weather got real crappy or he caught the one eyed fish with one of his hooks in it's mouth. Now that is a real Moby Dick story! I didnt see a coin nailed to the mast head though :)

    Monday Evening Wickiup Report

Come a little closer and I will twist your arm! Thanks for the report Brian! I have been craving a trip over there but have been holding off. I might just have to head over for a couple of days next week.

    New World Record!!!?

It is my understanding that there are both lake spawners and stream spawners. As far as the lake being fished out, the only fish taken were predominantly those over the 15" mark. Most others were released unharmed. There are a ton of fish in the lake. My fishfinder in the early morning was...

    New World Record!!!?

The world record was broken yesterday at Wallowa 9 pounds and 7.76 ounces. I tried for four days to get the big one but didnt make it. I even got spooled once in the process. A fellow from Pendleton caught the big one right after i pulled out.

    g.p 6/6/10

I did a little better, boated 16 nice Kokanee. Pink hoochie was the hot setup. I also had good luck with a clear UV hoochie. Most fish were caught at 45-50'. Pro Cure Sweet Corn Scent and a squirt of UV enhancer was the bait of choice, at least for the fish. Overall, a good day, no wind and even...

    Wallowa In Early June

I will be fishing the lake as well starting on the 9th. Looking forward to it! Hands are shaking, and can't sleep. Still drink a few beers though and I still have my appetite so I must be ok. I have a ton of gear and new scents to try out so it definitely will be interesting. Black Alumaweld...

    GP Kokanee Jackpot report 05/22 & 5/23

When we get this early season cold weather and rain/snow, try fishing shallower like we were a month or so ago. I think you will find in most cases that the fish will be moving back up the water column because of the warmer water near the surface. With the wind stirring up the top, you get an...

how did the derby turn out

I had a great time, especially meeting with some of the IFish friends! Fishing was decent although the fish were smallish. I pre-fished the lake Thursday and Friday so I had my strategy. I kept throwing them back to get that bigger fish. When the weigh in time came, I only had four decent...
