My brother-in-law and me went to Bear Lake NC trout fishing and got 10 walleye and 4 rainbows.

SuperD,the tubes have been my "hoochies" for several years. We've caught trout,walleyes, kokes ,rockbass etc.on them . Like you said cheap and lots of colors.We can't get hoochies here in NC and they're too spensive to order. TM101chromefish101

We don't have rod limits here in NC .I run 4 rods off the two downriggers and one flatline shallow and maybe run a cowbell 10'-20' deep. Like Petty , I try to keep several rods rigged and ready ,so I can get lines back out quickly if I get tangled or want to re-rig.101chromefish101

I usually run mine like the setup in SilverBullets pic.I haven't tried rubberbands but figure the slider runs about half way between the release and the surface. When you get hit on the slider the rod bounces like crazy.Sometimes hooksets aren't real solid ,but these are fish that aren't down...

Anyone using sliders in your downrigger setups? I use them all the time spoon fishing for trout and a few times for kokes. Two spoons and a thrashing fish can get interesting in the net,dodgers and wedding rings make for bigger tangles. Even so sliders pick up high running fish that you may have...

BH sad to say I haven't been on the water since late Dec.and I haven't had a chance to try my 4" crows yet.If I remember correctly the small ones have a slow back and forth thump.I 've used the small silverleaf spoons( 2.5" or 3") but not enough to say I like them a whole lot yet.

Hagen's has crow spoons and wobbler spoons that are oval shaped and come in small sizes. Also you might try F.S.T. spoons they are oval and have great action.101chromefish101
