Thanks for the report, Rick. I am disappointed but not surprised with your results. I think we should start thinking about steelhead and salmon, it's pretty late for kokes. We'll chase kokes next spring! John

It is getting a little late. Early last week we fished Canyon creek to Elk Creek and did well. Only one fish had color. Last Saturday we fished the same area and caught one small koke. You might have a better chance at Granddad but a previous post said the kokes above Granddad were starting to...

Thanks for the info kenbarb. I was there Tuesday and fished mostly at Canyon Creek although I tried other spots. I caught a few before the heat got me. I spent too much time fishing at 35-50 feet (downrigger) before I found a bunch at 25 feet. I was surprised to find them that shallow when the...

Gave it a go last Saturday. We were surprised by the number of boats chasing kokanee. We fished the Big Eddy/Bruce's Eddy and Canyon Creek areas. We caught one and saw one caught.

Neither Bruce's Eddy nor Big Eddy allow overnight camping. There are a few camp spots about a mile from the dam off the entry road. The main campgrounds are Freeman Creek (State) and Dent Acres (federal) but I am not sure they are open this early in the year.

Thank you, fishslayer. I have fished Canyon Creek and Elk Creek a lot but didn't know much about the dam area. Also, I always fly right past Indian Creek so I will make some passes there.

Do the fish tend to be at the dam area this time of year?
