    American Lake - 2011

TrollNFisher, Were you in a North River launching at 12-1230 or so? You came over and talked to us as I cleaning my fish on the beach? Nice boat by the way! Yeah we caught all our fish trolling a little faster also, 1.2mph to 1.6mph. Not by choice though, my new kicker is a high thrust model...

    3/27/2011 AMERICAN lake kokanee

Kok Head, Nice job! I was out there also! My first serious go at Kokes this season. I didn't realize they didn't open the gate on the south end until 7am I had to wait 30 mins. I guess it will be that way until the 31st, then on April 1st it will open at 5am. We ended up with 8 kokes, a...

KS, What kind of boat are you in again? I'm heading to the lake this weekend. I would have been there last weekend but I had to get my steelhead fix. Good job out there! Some of my earliest Kokes are from the first week in April. Maybe I can get a March one! Winterun

    American Lake 10-11-10

Mack, My friend and I fish it at least 3 times during the week all the month of October, either before work or after. We're usually the only boat out there. We've had 30 fish days this past week, and some into the 16" range. The females have fully developed eggs, and some of the males are...

KOK, End of the season!?! I guess it's always best to finish on a good note. I might get out there one more time this month to close it out. It's tough though had a good weekend on the coast catching coho! But it's suppose to rain quite a bit in the next few days which might blow some rivers...

    9-27-2010 AMERICAN lake

KOK, Yes I do remember! That was a nice trout! I did'nt get any that big, but I gave it a shot later in the season during early Aug. My time is limited out there now, with coho's and fall chinook to get after, and winter run steelheading around the corner. But if the rivers are blown...

    9-27-2010 AMERICAN lake

Kok Head, I was out there on sunday afternoon the 26th from 4pm till 7pm. Ridiculous Kokanee fishing! Doubles were the norm. We could not even get the lines in the clips before we got bit. If we did, we didn't make it to the seat before we had a fish on!!! But during one of the turn arounds, I...

    Set ups

I use this as my favorite rig! Gamakatsu's Flat Blade Spinner Rig I modify it of course for optimum performance. By retying with Gamakatsu Split Shot Drop shot hooks, and 10# flouro, as it comes with 8# mono. Fished with a UV dodger that matches the beads or hootchie I'm using at the time.

DB, Glad to see you got into them. As I had the same sucess on Saturday the 8th was as you stated not red hot. The biggest fish was a 14" with the other 3 in the 12" range, but nice to get the first one under the belt as it was the first time on the water in my new boat! Primarily a morning...
