    reel clamps

I was going through some of my stored fishing stuff and found 4 sets of reel clamps for Okuma Convector 15 line counter reels? Anyone ever use use the reel clamps? Seems a bit of overkill for kokanee /light trolling unless worried about not checking and the seat coming loose and reel falling...

Headed for the End of the Road

Wishing all the best....... ...to all here and facing any myriad of health problems. I am most fortunate to have come through several health scares in recent years including open heart surgery for valve repair, a major stroke, and radiation treatment for prostrate cancer. Through out all, and...

    Berry Bad 8-18-2022

Yup, the unplanned curves come, and health ones among those of greatest concern. I've faced several health related issues the last few years that while serious in nature, thankfully were not chronic or debilitating to this point. I wish you and your wife the best with some understanding of all...

Glad to hear you got out, Roger. I still figuring this retirement thing out as to how to get more fishing in. Retired July 1 then took a 3 week trip with wife and got back to 4 weeks of looking after grandkids while son-in-law was at army reserve training. Now catching up around house while...

    FG June 1 - 10

something isn't right What is everyones' take on possible impact of the water draw down on fishing for kokes? The drop is clearly noticable when looking at the Lucerne camera. I know that still enough water in lake to support the fish but how might make things more difficult fishing? The...

    Flaming Gorge trip report.

no luck better than bad luck Well, given the bad luck we encountered last week, lack of luck is not a biggee. First off, let me say that my fishing partner Bill takes good care of his equipment, not so much himself anymore but takes it to professionals for regular maintenance and whenever...

    Gorge intel?

We'll be fishing from Lucerene for a few days next week Mon - Thur. Any new reports you are willing to share? Over the years we have done pretty darn well from Stateline area through Pipeline north (heard that kokes have been relatively scarce there this year), but also enjoy hitting other...

    releasing koke at the gorge

Just for us all to keep in mind not to take what we enjoy in regards to hunting and fishing for granted, and that we are in the public eye. A similar proposition to that currently seeking petition in Oregon was mounted in Colorado a few years ago, but a judge stopped that one on the grounds...

    releasing koke at the gorge

I'm not here to argue or judge releasing kokes, but I hope we can all agree that putting up a video of releasing clearly harmed fish is poor judgement. Just ammunition for the Oregon proposition currently being developed.............

    releasing koke at the gorge

While there is some debate (including here) on returning kokes, not sure a damaged fish such as at 10:05 if the video should ever be put back. Man, it's not like it was a shaker that might take up space in your limit. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=343231053310984

    Different Anode Alloys

Good advice, Roger. As you noted, and a reminder to all, many outboards have more than one anode, if you go replacing be sure that all in the galvonic circuit(s) are same else only the strongest will be sacrificial (at least until it degrades).

    corn at the gorge

Yes, indeed we'll give it go, Roger. I am eagerly anticipating as we did not make it to the Gorge last year owing to the COVID situation. We'll be camping and fishing from Lucerne 7/26-30. Hope to see some of the group camping and on the water. Boat is a Bayliner Discovery, call name 5 O'clock...

    corn at the gorge

Pautzke Fire Corn Thought I might give the Pautzke Fire Corn in pink a try when we are at the Gorge later this month. Just an alternative to our usual pink gulp maggot. It kind of sounds like 6 of one or half dozen of the other 101ok101

    corn at the gorge

Just a query whether the change in Utah regs a couple years ago to allow corn for fishing has impacted how you fish the Gorge?

    Annual April Run

Super you got out, Roger, before the roller coaster of weather upcoming this week. I'm still looking at calendar for a Gorge trip. In the mean time, I'm looking forward for some settled weather to start the spring warm up towards bass fishing. Tight lines.

What kind of dog, Roger? While mine go out duck hunting boat, always been leary of taking my Labs on fishing boat for fear that they'd end up with a mouthful of hooks ;-). Glad you had a successful day.
