    Prop Advice Needed ?

SEI is a great choice. I'd try the 13 or 14" pitch 4 blades you have talked about if they have them. You will get on plane better but your probably going to loose a few mph top speed.

    Prop Advice Needed ?

This is probably one of the best prop guides I have seen so far. http://boatpropellers.iboats.com/propeller-tutorials/rpm/?cart_id=362775623

    Prop Advice Needed ?

that is a fairly heavy boat for a 4.3L. If my memory is right merc says the best props for their stern drives is the 19 and 21 pitch and they power / gear the boats to run those choices. With the elevation loss, That 190hp 4.3 is loosing ~ 35 hp @6200 feet. So that gives you about 155 hp to...

    Kokanee are hitting hard

I got there there 15th and left the 19th. spent a few hours trolling for kokes. 2 on, one got off 20ft back, I kept the 16 for the smoker. Didn't spend much time trolling as I didn't have my downriggers mounted up yet, just snap weights. I jigged for lakers mostly, the 16th and 17th it...

    Best tasting freshwater fish

Perch, Walleye, Crappie. Best tasting to me. Trout are ok if cooked properly. I have tried Burbot a couple different times. Honestly who ever said it tastes like lobster has never had fresh Maine lobster. I don't care for it.

Buying a 'new' boat just starting

I got a 20 footer with a 5.7L I/O. yes the engine takes up some space, but it is a fishing boat and the motor cover works well for a spot to unhook fish. I tossed out the front seats and made a fishing deck. No seat. Front one has anchor, 200 ft rope and life jackets. Two side ones have...

    Update on electric Bow motor

The way the skeg bolts on the shaft will not allow the terrova to fully retracts into the stowed position. Unless I am seeing something wrong.

    Let's go!

Launched the boat today for the first time. Was not at the Gorge, but Glendo and got one fat preggo walleye. Snapped a few pictures and let her go so she could spawn.

    Depth finder shuts off

I had the same issue due to the fact it is a long ways from the battery to the fish finder. I ran a separate 12 gauge fused wires from the battery to the FF and it no longer does it

    More downrigger questions

I think I will pick up the 10# then. Seems like it would work well for everything I would do with them. Thanks For the help!

    More downrigger questions

Is there any real advantage of using heavier weights? Like say a 12# over a 8 or 10? Will the 12 have less blow back?

    More downrigger questions

Majority of my trolling would be at the Flaming Gorge for kokanee. There may also be some use at some other lakes for trout and walleye. I have never targeted trolling with downriggers. Walleye I guess might be down to 40ft. As for kokanee I have seen a few posts where they were deep around...

    More downrigger questions

So I have spent plenty of time reading down rigger threads. Different weight designs, voltages, snubbers or no snubbers. I understand how to check the voltages and what people say you should shoot for. Does the depth of your weight is down or speed effect the voltage read? Is the voltage the...
