Lots of things work. Coarse sponge, cotton ball, end of a frayed rope. I spray rattle can paint into a paper bowl and dab. Do some pre dabs first to get the amount of paint on the end of your tool to look how you want.

Navionics website at least lets you see what the detail for a particular lake looks like before buying the chip. I type "Flaming Gorge" into the Lakemaster site and it comes back with "no data available". I'm kind of surprised that both companies aren't getting their information from the same...
