    May 14, 2011 - New Melones

My uncle and I made our first Kokanee trip of the season, and it was a WFO bite for us. We had lines in the water shortly before 7 am, and I was putting away my gear just before 8:30. It was fun. All our fish were 13 inch cookie cutters and didn't find any of the bigger 14 and 15 inch fish...

North River From The North Pole

Wow! That shine on the hull is amazing! What did you use and how long did it take you to do that?

    Early season dodger size dilema

Dave, I run a lot of mid-sized dodgers all year long no matter the depth. I used them a lot and even the 8 inch sling blades at Flaming Gorge last year when the water clarity was terrible and did well. Basically, what I am saying is, "Go for it!" :)

    CA DFG Trout Stocking Lawsuit

Here in CA, there has been a lawsuit against the DFG regarding their trout stocking program. While written at a very high level, the purpose of this thread is to spread the word about this issue. While this is mainly dealing with trout, this can have major implications that can affect other...

    2010 kokanee season

It's okay Kevin. I think you are with the majority in that situation. I'm still trying to catch up with last season! stomper It's not like I haven't been spending money, just not on Kokanee gear yet. I'm gearing up for the prespawn for bass and the spring Striper run. ;)

    2010 kokanee season

There must be something wrong with me. I just realized that I have nothing new for this upcoming Kokanee season. I do have a couple more months to make up for my "lack of spending."

    Flaming Gorge Contacts

No worries if you can't remember. I put an inquiry via email to TK Watersports last Tuesday but have not yet received a response. I placed a phone call to them as well to try and follow up with them, but I have yet to receive a call back. Oh well. :( Back to the drawing board. I almost...

Dave, you mentioned that you put a deposit on a rental prior to buying your camper. Do you remember who the name of the business?

    Flaming Gorge Contacts

I figured it would be about a 30 to 40 minute drive every morning to Buckboard. It doesn't look too far to Lucerne. I never fished that area before. I've always fished out of Buckboard.

    Flaming Gorge Contacts

Dave, Thanks for all the info. We typically rent an RV every year and drive it from Sacramento to Buckboard and back. I'm looking to expand my options this year to see what is available. I will look into those floating cabins at Lucerne. I am also thinking about looking into those Lake...

    Need help/advice on reel selection

I do remember about 6 months back buying a pair of Daiwa Accudepth 17LCs or 27LCs (can't remember now the exact model) off of eBay for my uncle for $55 each (included shipping) for Striper fishing. Those did have a clicker and a line counter. The only thing I did not care too much about was...

    Need help/advice on reel selection

I think you will have trouble finding a reel for Kokanee that meets your criteria for $50. However, that doesn't mean it is NOT possible. Are you looking new or used? With the recent push and popularity for Tica reels, I'm sure that someone will be willing to sell their Abu Garcia 4600s...

    Flaming Gorge Contacts

Yup. Sorry. I meant rentals. There's some places, at least here in CA, that will actually deliver the trailer or RV to your campground for you and pick it back up after you leave. I was just wondering if there's a business like that around Flaming Gorge.

    Flaming Gorge Contacts

Does anyone know if there are RV dealers in Green River or Rock Springs that will deliver an RV or travel trailer to your location and set it up for you? Has anyone stayed at the Lake View cabins in Manila? Just wondering about your experiences. Thanks! :)
