That is a good time to fish...don't know if the Rexford Bench Camp Ground is open that early though. Weather is a crap shoot, it can be clear warm and calm or nasty as you can imagine you got a 50/50 shot!

Welcome Steve, I was introduced to the world of Kokanee fishing back in the hayday of Hauser...wish we had a lake like that now!!! Where do you fish for kokes on a regular basis now?

There are Kokes being caught but they are all very small...lots of 6-7" fish...

Went to Koocanusa yesterday, Kokes weren't the primary target but always run a Koke rod when trolling. Didn't find many returns in the usual places for this time of year north of Rexford. Caught three Kokes 9" or less, hot pink was the active color.

As far as I'm aware the salmon on Mary Ronan have been less than cooperative this year...and as far as Hauser goes, I'm not aware of Kokes still in there...the Walleye got em all...Unless you've been made aware of new info. I use to fish Hauser 25 years ago and catch 2-3lb Kokes on a regular...

that is small...hope you were just in a school that is a young class year... I've caught 14" out of there and 10-12" on a regular basis...

Only Bummer about Ashley is getting in there...I've only ever gone one time and it about beat the living crap out of my trailer and boat...if anyone knows of a better launch than the public one on the north side of the lake please do tell...

Why do you want to snag fish that are starting to decompose....never understood that...
