    Fishing Report for 5/13 5/14 5/15 5/16

Great report and fantastic fish! I have used gulp maggots with limited success at Berryessa, and will continue to experiment. JD

    maybe a wall hanger?

Congrats on a real trophy! Great fish. My vote would be to get it mounted.

    I/O trolling question

+1 on everything above. Your mercruiser should idle almost indefinitely without overheating. So as noted, tackle that first. I had a similar problem and after trouble shooting I discovered the root of the problem was clogged water passages in the manifolds which restricted flow enough to...

    Berry Bad... 6/25 to 6/27

I fished Berryessa for about 7 hours on Saturday June 26. Two nice 14", one fat 12" plus one barely big enough to get hooked that was released to grow - all kokes. Four hook-ups, four in the boat was a good ratio but not the quantity we were hoping for in terms of action. The best setup was...

Lake Berryessa 5-30-10 - A very slow day

Kevin, Thanks for the report. Every little bit helps to solve the riddle. Seems that there are fewer fish but much more size & quality for this time of year. In year's past I didn't see any kokes over 16" until August. Seems like every stringer has a slug or two on it from the reports I've...

    Berry 5/31/10

Man I thought the three from the other report were nice, this limit outshines that trio for sure. Nice work, keep the reports coming. Have you been changing setbacks at all? I have been curious, most of what I've read is that the shallower you are in the water column, the longer setback required.

    Berryessa 5/21/10

Berryessa 5/22 Report Rather than post a new thread, I figured I'd just update this one with my trip. I was on Berryessa Saturday fishing solo. Two kings for my effort, two more hookups that were gone before I could get a glimpse and one check in with DFG. Both kings were caught in the flats...

    Berryessa Labor Day Weekend

Made it to Berryessa Saturday by 7:30am and trolled for about 5 hours. I picked up two kings using Pro Cure pink dyed/cured corn (pink white and blue dodger blue hootchie with pink corn). The one pictured below went about 18" and 1lb 14oz. Great fish. Did land one liced up trout that put...

    Lake Berryessa 8-30-09

Great catch, some quality size. Looks like you were working the narrows and the mouth to the main body of the lake. Is that correct? Any other productive areas? Reports in the Press Democrat indicate that some fish are headed west.

    Berryessa 8/19

Keep the reports coming. I won't be able to make it out there for two weeks and I'm dying to hear about some big fish coming!

Lake Berryessa 8-08-09 - Family Fun!

Some beautiful fish and a great report. Seems fairly consistent with expectations. Hopefully the bigger fish will continue to bite. On that subject, what is the latest time of the year the kokes will still bite at Berryessa? Never thought to tune dodgers with a bend, but it makes great...

How to avoid tangles while stacking downriggers?

Kevin, as always useful insight. We have had success using shuttle hawks. Separation of about 10' has proven to be enough. I concur with the longer set back for the deeper lines. We set the depth and use the flush rod mounts in the corner for the deep line and then run the second...

Thanks guys. Yes, over 18" and 1lb 15oz by my scale. Fillets are vacuum sealed and will be smoked this week!

    Berryessa Aug 2 2009

I promised myself I would post no matter the result because I hadn't seen any reports from Berryessa in a while. Surprising, considering how many boats I saw! After camping out in the boat Saturday evening, I started tolling at about 6:00am Sunday. Stopped fishing at about 11:30 after...

2009 Kokanee and King Salmon Plants for California

Great info. I'm curious about Folsom, I don't recal ever hearing a koke report from there. I've fished Del Valle on occasion, but never for kokes. I'm kicking myself because it's about 20 minutes from the project I've been working on for the last 2 years and I'm about to wrap up which means...
