    I think the published voltage for koks is a bit high. I stay in the 0.57 to 0.60 range depending on the lake Im fishing.

    Jestfishin- I would stay around 5 to 15 feet from the wire to get the greatest effect. At 100 feet there wouldnt be much of a benefit.

    Im a firm believer in the black box. I have definatly noticed a difference in my catch rates after I sold my boat that had adjustable ion control downriggers. My current boat has cannon mag 5's that meter out .52 which is too low. Needs to be in the 0.57 to 0.60 range for koks so a black box...

    Full Monte When ever Im in the market for wire I watch the Ebay auctions. Got a great deal on 2 400 ft rolls this winter. Sometimes they have bulk spools 600 to 1000 ft. I run shark weights most of the time so Im pretty carefull.

    Since I started cutting off about 20 to 30 feet of cable at the end of each season I have not had any more failures at the ball. A new roll of cable every couple of years is cheaper than than a new ball.
