    Double D Dodger?

I ordered some stuff by phone from Mack's a few days ago and was told they do not have the double d's available for shipping yet. Probably not for a few more weeks. Too late for this yr.

    Kokes In Cougar Resv.?

Just talked to a guy from Eugene who told me he caught some kokes at Cougar Resv. Said they planted them there just a few yrs ago. Anybody have info on this?

    Overtime Fishing @ GP 07/31/10

So, if I don't post pics with my report it's just b.s.? Not that what you believe or don't believe matters. Btw, I've seen a few pics posted that I don't believe.

    Whatsup @ Wickiup?

FRG, thanks for the report. If most fish were on the bottom, did you try any jigging? jw

    Whatsup @ Wickiup?

Haven't heard any recent Wickiup reports. Last yr we did very well there in mid July on kokes from 17" to 20". Hoping for a repeat. Maybe too early?

    Odell 6/19 - 6/21

Fishing was about as good as the weather; mostly miserable. My earlier trip to Odell (see 6/5 report) was so good I thought this would be a repeat. But not. Sat. weather included rain, fog & lots of wind. Nonetheless I anchored up in the West cove where I was told the fish were. Didn't mark much...

    Blackbox

I have had a scotty bb on 2 boats but not on my present boat. Now, I have replaced the wire cable with braided which doesn't work for a bb. I have done just as well w/o the bb. From my years of using the bb both in fresh & salt, I think it is more helpful in the salt. If you have a "hot boat"...

    Odell 6/5 & 6/6

I usually use a small duo lock but also fish directly tied. can't say I've noticed any difference and duo lock makes me more willing to change up if needed.

    Odell 6/5 & 6/6

Skookum, Re jigging suspended fish: we were jigging for the suspended fish (mostly at 45 to 70 ft. over 100 ft bottom) with the usual active motion. Next trip, I will try the passive approach for suspended fish. Do you use the same type of jigs for this method?

    Odell 6/5 & 6/6

Cold, windy & raining off and on. Fish didn't mind. Unlike the usual, the west bay was almost devoid of fish. Most boats went east down to the railroad slide where there were about 20+ boats anchored & jigging in 80 to 100 ft. We did the same. Mostly fished at 95 ft. We were jigging pink/white...

    Wallowa In Early June

Wallowa Thanks for the advice, including the pm's. I will be there long enough to try a lot of gear & methods. I know the action won't be like what I've had at Odell recently, but there is the excitement of knowing there's some biggies lurking. And, then, there's that scenery!

    Wallowa In Early June

I will be at Wallowa from 6/9 to 6/16. So far, it appears that other than a very few huge trophies fishing has been poor. While I would love to catch the next world record koke, realistically, what kind of action can I expect otherwise? I haven't fished there since the early 90's when overall...

    Homemade Koke Jigs

Ok...what are "rat finks" and how are they attached? A pic would reaaly help. Thanks.

    New Oregon State Record Kokanee

This is not what I'd call a small lake, but its smaller than Berryessa. I have fished Wallowa off & on since the 90's and have never seen it crowded like the CA lakes. I have fished there in both June & July and except for holidays its rarely crowded. A majority are fishing from the bank for...

    Lakers and Landlocks

P.S. I recognize the lakers, but what kind of landlocked salmon are in the pics?

    Lakers and Landlocks

I have used these Spin Doctors on the OR coast for salmon w great results. Will try the smaller size this spring for trout & kokes.

    Lookout Point Res., 3-27-10

Looks like the weather on Sat. will be ugly. But, I hope you go & do well. I have been driving by that reservoir for yrs on my way to Odell but have yet to fish it. Have heard lots of rumors about what swims there but have never heard how anyone has done fishing there. Where do you launch?

    Why "never"?

I have fished a lot in B.C. on the coast of Vancouver Island. Also went to Sheridan Lake for trout and heard there were some nearby lakes that were good for kokanee. I was told Bridge Lake put out some good size kokes, can't remember the others. I was there in the Fall, so too late to try for...

    Charging your Glow

I have had excellent results with a small flashlight made by Coast Cutlery in Portland. They had a booth at the Portland show. The lights are LED and UV (not black lights). They really fire up the glo stuff. As has been mentioned, when the sun's up go to the UV lures. Low light or very deep are...

    Two DAVE BISER questions.

Hoochies have been used for salmon for many yrs. But, not for kokanee & trout until the early 90's. I introduced use of the smaller hoochies (2.5 in.) to Phil Johnson in CA who was pres. of Kokanee Power. In the late 80's I found some success trolling crappie tubes behind a dodger. Then, I went...
