Just talked to a guy from Eugene who told me he caught some kokes at Cougar Resv. Said they planted them there just a few yrs ago. Anybody have info on this?

Haven't heard any recent Wickiup reports. Last yr we did very well there in mid July on kokes from 17" to 20". Hoping for a repeat. Maybe too early?

I have had a scotty bb on 2 boats but not on my present boat. Now, I have replaced the wire cable with braided which doesn't work for a bb. I have done just as well w/o the bb. From my years of using the bb both in fresh & salt, I think it is more helpful in the salt. If you have a "hot boat"...

I usually use a small duo lock but also fish directly tied. can't say I've noticed any difference and duo lock makes me more willing to change up if needed.

Skookum, Re jigging suspended fish: we were jigging for the suspended fish (mostly at 45 to 70 ft. over 100 ft bottom) with the usual active motion. Next trip, I will try the passive approach for suspended fish. Do you use the same type of jigs for this method?

Cold, windy & raining off and on. Fish didn't mind. Unlike the usual, the west bay was almost devoid of fish. Most boats went east down to the railroad slide where there were about 20+ boats anchored & jigging in 80 to 100 ft. We did the same. Mostly fished at 95 ft. We were jigging pink/white...

Wallowa Thanks for the advice, including the pm's. I will be there long enough to try a lot of gear & methods. I know the action won't be like what I've had at Odell recently, but there is the excitement of knowing there's some biggies lurking. And, then, there's that scenery!

I will be at Wallowa from 6/9 to 6/16. So far, it appears that other than a very few huge trophies fishing has been poor. While I would love to catch the next world record koke, realistically, what kind of action can I expect otherwise? I haven't fished there since the early 90's when overall...

I have used these Spin Doctors on the OR coast for salmon w great results. Will try the smaller size this spring for trout & kokes.
