    New motor

Congratulations fairweatherman. The people I've talked to with the 115 Optimax have really liked their motor as much as I like my 90 Optimax. I don't think your going to regret buying it. Enjoy my friend.

    New motor

I have the 08 Mercury 90 HP Optimax and love it. I wasn't sure I would like a 2 stroke when I ended up with it but after running it the last 4 seasons I have really come to love it. It gets great fuel milage and you have no oil changes. They burn really clean with the oil injection (no mixing)...

    A bit of reflection.

Thanks for sharing your memories. I really enjoyed reading your post. It's refreshing to read a post where a local enjoys seeing the tourism and sharing the resource with others. We are all here for a very short time and need to remember that we did not inherit the resources from our parents but...

    Greatest rock bands

I would say IMO, it would have to be the early EAGLES hands down for greatest, although I loved many of the bands mentioned. Second place for me was Grand Funk Railroad, loved I'm Your Captain. Then The Doobie Brothers. Of course Zepplin, The Stones, Clapton, and Deep Purple, also liked Uriah...

    Gps

I just bought a Garmin Oregon 550t. I bought it for hunting and traveling. I have a Lowrance HDS 5 in my boat right now with lake insight. I suppose if I didn't have the Lowrance I would be able to get by with the Garmin but I like having at least the 5 inch screen. I use it some on the split...

    trolling with electric

I have a Minn Kota 55 PowerDrive V2 Bow Mount with the i-pilot and I love it. I'm only pulling a 16.5 foot aluminum WTW powered by a Merc 90hp Opti-Max. I have two batteries hooked in parallel and with a full charge will pull 1.9mph to 2.2mph when calm or with the wind, of course you can lower...

    8-27 @ the gorge

Agreed SuperD. I wouldn't have joined the conversation either had it not been directed right at me. I don't take kindly to being called unethical and told that I don't care about the fishery. Sometimes the locals in Wyoming get to thinking they own the resource and are just letting the rest of...

    8-27 @ the gorge

Doesn't anyone else want to chime in with an opinion here? I don't feel Propnut69 or anyone else on this forum has the right to question how much I or anyone else cares about the fishery or whether keeping a legally caught fish is ethical or unethical. That's why we have law enforcement with...

    8-27 @ the gorge

You have completly missed my point, that was catch and release fishing for kokanee kills many future spawners just for the sake of sport. I also fail to see the difference between a silver koke that has not turned red yet but is probably only weeks away from doing so and one that has turned red...

fishinfrenzy thanks for all the great reports this summer. I have really enjoyed reading them and I love seeing your pictures. The wife and I will be over there this weekend for one last blast. We'll be staying at the forest service campground at Buckboard. Leaving in a few hours!!!!

    8-27 @ the gorge

I fail to see your logic here since all the salmon will turn red and become spawners eventually. The large silver kokes in the summer will turn red sometime in the fall. If what you said were true then keeping any kokes would be bad for the fishery. There was a discussion here not long ago about...

Nice catch. Are most of them turning red now?

    First time for everything

Looks like the same downriggers I have on my boat. I spent the last three years leaning over the boat to retrieve the downrigger weights. I finally spent the money for some Cannon weight retrievers. I mounted mine on the aft side or downstream side of each downrigger. I found them on amazon.com...
