    Daiwa Sealine SG17LC3B any reviews??

Thanks again for the information and think tank. SuperD - I completely forgot about there soft lil' lips. I would have definitely been losing some fish there. I'm not completely sold on the braided line deal. Seem so popular on the Columbia River for salmon that I just kind of went with it...

    Daiwa Sealine SG17LC3B any reviews??

Arrrgh - You guys aren't helping me spend money! : ) SuperD is right on that I would really only use them for a month when flat lining and I do like the light setup of not having a LC on the reel to begin with. Smokepoles is right on for why the line counters. Even when I'm doing 10-20 feet...

    Daiwa Sealine SG17LC3B any reviews??

SuperDave - Thanks for the suggestion. The AccuDepth ICV15 was in the final running on my list of (Gear Ratio / Line capacity / Bearings / Weight) - yes I get a bit anal in gear selection! I loved the size and weight. Price was not my favorite but I have a few Tekotas for salmon fishing so...

    Daiwa Sealine SG17LC3B any reviews??

I'm looking at switching 2 of my kokanee reels over to right hand operators with line counters. I currently have 2 tica caimans that I really like but I'm the only person that is "lefty lover" on my boat. I'd rather just have stuff match so there is no confusion when guests are grabbing reels...

2013 Lake Billy Chinook Repot Thread

Hey thanks DB! This is a whole new game for me. Sounds like I'm at least equipped properly - Lowrance, downriggers and hoochies. I should be able to find them on the fish TV and have the ability to target that depth with the downriggers. Now just to find a willing biter in the group! Do you...

2013 Lake Billy Chinook Repot Thread

No reports yet??? Alright I actually have know idea when this fishery starts up but I guarantee a full report from my first trip to this lake ever March 4-6. Mainly targeting C&R bull trout but thinking we will try for a few kokes for dinner some night. Feel free to PM me with any good info I...

things we are doing to our boats for this years fishing season

SuperD - That looks like a very good option. I thought I was doing good trying to kill 2 birds with one stone. Instead I got a pain in the butt from it. I have bench seats so I think a little organization tray inside one of those will hold weights just fine. Dragonfly - thanks for the heads...

things we are doing to our boats for this years fishing season

Oh yeah - In response to your thread other than pulling maintenance on my outboards I only have trying to figure out a step stool / lead storage solution for my boat. When I sit on the transom to run the kicker my legs dangle and don't reach the ground. When I'm on the kicker for 2 hours...

things we are doing to our boats for this years fishing season

Looks like a great solution. My length of chain is rubber coated but I don't that will last very long before it starts breaking down and crumbling over the deck. Where would one get that stuff you used?

    Jigging Merwin or Yale?

I've seen discussions on this before and had the same question myself. The general theme seemed to be that no one has tried it but no one knows why it wouldn't work. I can generally find and catch fish on the troll and just don't buck the system when mine is working. I also fear if I decide...

    willard walleye 4/21/2012

Nicely done! I love the boat name. I will echo TrophyBoats sentiments - walleye is probably some of the best freshwater white meat fish. Love 'em I hope your good fishing continues

    Merwin Depths

Just a late post I think - not a big secret. I haven't been up there yet but from most reports it sounds like 10-20 feet is the way to go. I love running my downriggers but last year early I had to give up go with direct weight on the line with in line trolls. It worked

    Rigging for Kokes

Your sling blades and hoochies should be a good start. They seem to be popular. I can't figure out why I don't have much success with them while others do so well. I am apparently a spinner fisherman. Last year I spent many hours fishing a hoochie next to a spinner and could never get that...

    Rigging for Kokes

You will probably stand out but........ what kind of driftboat are you in? If you see a white Hewescraft with a gray top and a silly name like Voodoo 13 on the side I will be glad to tell you what depth I'm at for the day. Once you know the depth for the day that normally stays consistent then...

Storage...Lets see what you've come up with

Regular old pipe insulation works for me. Although I will admit the colored stuff is pretty cool looking. I think the pool noodles material is a bit more durable as well. I may have to switch out when the pipe insulation dies. Darn more stuff to buy!

    Wounded Warrior Fishing Program

I will be staying one of the nights I think........ Depending on start time on Saturday I may stay over somewhere on Friday night. If I decide to make the drive Saturday morning I'm thinking I may want to kick up my heels Saturday night and not do the long haul home. Let me know if you come...

    Columbia River Wounded Warrior Trip

Vancouver Chapter of Southwest Washington Steelheaders put on a WW fishing trip on 3-24-12. I had the pleasure of being involved with it. I believe they had 40 vets come down. They had about 20 volunteer boats. Total for the day for the group was 6 nookies. Not the greatest of days but at...

    Wounded Warrior Fishing Program

I'm in as long as I can get the day off work or work a trade with someone at work. I can take 2 as the wife will want to be involved as well. Never fish American lake but have talked about it and researched for a few years now. Thank you for making this contact. If there is something I can...
