    Odell 6/19 - 6/21

J W, thanks for the report. Missed my annual trip to Odell this year, but with the reports I've seen this spring, it's been more miss than hit. I think I'll continue with the trips to GP. Good luck to you on your trip to GP next wknd. Tight lines!

    Cross-country move!

JM, Welcome to the northwest. I live in the Willamette valley in Oregon. Moved from Penna. myself. Didn't plan on staying, and now, 33 yrs. later, I'm still here. Beautiful country up in Spokane! Can't help you with fishing info, never had the opportunity to fish up there. Welcome to the site...

Heading out to GP on Sunday 6/20

Just to beware of the wind! Right around 10:00, it picks up. Never fished from a kayak. Good luck to you.

    Trolling depth

KK, I have a book, "Trolling Truths for Trout,Kokanee, and landlocked King Salmon". It was written by Sep & Marilyn Hendrickson, published by, "Frank Amato Publications",www.amatobooks.com. It's an interesting read but leans toward relying on the downrigger. Personally, I'm a long liner like...

    G.p. 6/12/10

F'Y4, just for reference. I've found that when the solunar tables do pan out, that the actual time frame usually works a half hour to 3/4 of an hour, plus or minus to the actual determined times.Again, Good fishing!

    G.p. 6/12/10

Good luck to you on 1st time on G.P.. I think any time there is a front coming in that it affects the bite. I can't or won't attempt to predict what the fish will do. I like to play with the Solunar charts, which there are many different ones to refer to. 6/12 was supposed to be an excellent...

    G.p. 6/12/10

F'Y4, it's calm at the boom up to ,,,,, maybe a 1/4 mile from the boom, compared to the major body of the reservoir. But it's all subjective. There aren't many guarantee's with the weather. I do all my fishing by the long-line method. I got rid of my downriggers. Again, to much equipment to deal...

    G.p. 6/12/10

F'Y4, I use a fish finder in the early part of the season, but my last half dozen or so trips I've left it at home (it's a portable one). It's just more equipment to deal with and I'm limited for space. I fish out of a 14 ft. deep V-hull, aluminum boat. I have just so much space (very little) so...

    G.p. 6/12/10

Your absolutely right! It is mainly a trollers gig. The water is fairly calm down by the dam, allowing for jigging. The main body of the lake has a short window that allows for jigging early, but when the wind picks up, jigging is out of the ?, at least for me. Trolling is an easier option than...

    G.p. 6/12/10

Gibbs minnow and Nordic are both good producing jigs. I would go 1st with the Gibbs minnow, pink & white, or a pearl white, then a pink and white Nordic as my 2nd choice.

    G.p. 6/12/10

Welcome to the forum F'Y4. There are many locations on the lake which hold fish on a fairly consistent basis. Trolling 30 yds. or so off the south shoreline has been a pretty fair producing area. A lot of folks motor toward the dam and troll down there, also some tie up to the boom and jig for...

    G.p. 6/12/10

Spent a full day on the lake today. Had my boat in by 7:00 and was counting out my line by 7:15. Long lined a Ford Fender and glo pink wedding ring for awhile. Switched to a standard cow bell and the glo pink wedding ring and the bite really took off for me. By noon I had 12 in the cooler...

    G.p. 6-5-2010

Saturday morning was slow for my son and I, but activity picked up for us on GP around 1:00 to 1:30. Afternoon bite lasted for about an hour then started to slow again. We ended up with 14 in the cooler. I like to chart the bite with J.A.Knights Solunar table. Find it to be fairly accurate...

    GP report for 06/01/10

waited the holiday weekend out for the option of going today when ramps are a lot less crowded. Got a late start and didn't get to my spot till around 07:45 and fished till 11:30. The bite was a little slow, had 4 in the cooler by 09:30 and then it went to a screeching halt! Had the occasional...

    GP speed limit near ramps

This has been an ongoing problem for years. Complaints get the same response time after time, under staffed, no funding, yada, yada. Stll, the best thing you can do is get the crafts operating number and as good of a description of the individual as possible and contact the sheriff. It happens out...

Newbie !st time Green Peter 5- 21

Welcome to the forum! So glad your 1st trip out on GP was a successful venture. Yes , GP is a beautiful lake (reservoir). I used to live in Sweet Home (27 yrs.) and spent many days on the water there. Even had my own guiding business on GP & Foster for a couple of years. Now living in Eugene and...

    Monday 05/24

I'm sorry. Destroyed my lower back and nagging pain was more on my mind this morning. We were fishing Green Peter. I don't know how many play with the Solunar chart printed in Field & Stream, but major and minor activity times were pretty near dead on with the bite! Again, I apologize for my...

    Monday 05/24

Spent from 7:30 - 2:00 on the water and put 10 in the cooler. Talked to a couple of other boats and they had similar success. The bite was fairly active till around 10:00, then dropped to nothing. Short bite started again around 1:00 then went quiet again. All in all, had an enjoyable day with...

    GP Kokanee Paradise report 05/15/10

I'm keeping my eye on the weather and if favorable, I'm going to try to slip up there on Friday. Can't stand the weekend boat ramp blues. Right now though, long range weather doesn't paint a pretty picture! Oh well, dig out the rain gear. I did it for years running tree planting crews, so a day...
