Congrats to George Gates for catching the 1st place kokanee weighing in at 3.85 pounds with a length of 20 3/4 inches. George fished with Art Pearce from Kokanee Creek Tackle Company. Our team had a 3.25 that we caught just after George's catch and stayed in the running until late Sunday...

    Winter at the Gorge again!

Fished the gorge Saturday with my buddy George catching a few nice kokes and rainbows for dinner. Most productive set-up was Orange Double Trouble behind a Matrix dodger, running from 10 to 16 feet down. We fished through a couple light showers and got back in by 1:00. Woke up this morning to...

    Weekend on the water

We finally got free for the weekend and hit the Gorge. Saturday early was great fishing and the weather was nice until early afternoon. Fished at 12 to 20 feet and stayed busy between Kokes, rainbows and lakers. Ran Black Pearl and Bronco spinners behind Shatterred and Silver Streak dodgers and...

Last weekend 6/22 on the Gorge

So last weekend was the DU derby, and the weather on Saturday afternoon was well noticed by everyone, quite a few trying to hold up in the smaller bays to avoid the big swells. The story here is really more about Friday. As we went out Friday to search for the favorite hole, we caught a...

    Father's Day at the Gorge

The weekend had some of the best weather this year. There were plenty of those three pounders cruising around and quite a few getting caught. We ended up with a couple at 3.6 and three more at 3.25, just right for the smoker. The Black Pearl behind Silver Streak and Hot Pink Double Trouble...

Hooked4life, petty posted that one for me. The Black Pearl is from Kokanee Creek Tackle Company. Its a splatter blade spinner ahead of black and white beads and can be found by clicking their add located on this forum, or google the company name. Its been my favorite lure for a few years. We...

    flaming gorge report

Sounds like some of what we were seeing this weekend as well. Pink was still doing well as was the Black Pearl, but a Pink Double Trouble Squid behind a Shattered dodger was the ticket for the weekend. We ended up with a couple of nice 3 1/2 pound jokes and a few pushing 3 pounds. And what an...

    last weekend at the Gorge

Weather turned out pretty nice until midday Sunday, when the "W" came blasting in. We caught kokes in the 2 pound range, nothing like last week's big fish though. We fished from 7 feet to 17 feet for the most action. Seems like they liked almost anything in pink. We did best with the Hot Tail...

You're right Only Child...it's always a pleasure to fish with my good friends, and even better when they know how to net the fish. We'll be doing it again very soon.
