Its the 3rd annual trip to the lake. Hoping to see FISH GUTS out catching the koks. Looking to beat my personal best of 23.5 inches. Bringing the kokaneefishingforum stickers just in case.

May is a tough time. The water level is often rising quickly and very cold. the fish will be scattered and inconsistent. Sorry for the report, hope you hit it on a good day.

I know Zimo has to make a living but every time he writes and article on one of my favorite spots to hunt, camp, or fish it is trashed by weekend warriors.

Spent a few hours up at LP this afternoon. I figured that since it was early November I would probably have the lake to myself. BOY WAS I WRONG. Lots of happy fisherman out enjoying the sun. And it looked like everyone was catching a few fish including me.

How early in the spring does the kok fishing start to pick up?

Anyone have any info on the Salmon Region Kok lakes? Just curious what the fishing is like on Alturas, Pettit, and Redfish.

It was slower down by the dam. Couldn't buy a bite on any anything but wedding rings with fire corn and even then I only boated 3 by 1100.

Just found this site. I have only fished for koks a few times but just got back from Wallowa Lake. Caught plenty of 10-13 inchers, one that was 19 and weighed over 3lbs. The biggest I caught was 23 inches and 4.5 lbs. Probably the fish of a lifetime for me but I'm hooked. Looking forward to...
