    greenpeter and fish with gary

It is funny that you never hear about white on Green Peter, every time I have fished GP, white and or Purple have been my biggest producers there (same for Simtustus).

If you could only have one scent.

Ran a few things side by side with Pro-Cure Kokanee Special. So far over the past 2 years the Koke special is at least equal to if not better than any other scent I have tried.

    Odell lake fishing reports

50-80' Purple was best but just about everything caught fish for us this past weekend. Caught 28 fish from 5:30-11:00. Many doubles and triples early.

    Green Peter Res

That would be my guess, blue and sometimes purple seem to be more difficult colors to come up with but they can be very effective in some locations some days. For us a purple slingblade and purple micro hoochie were a killer combination during the Green Peter derby.

Green Peter derby is this weekend.. 05/19/12

You might want to post the weigh-in times somewhere on the Rules sheet, entry forms or something besides at the trailer for those of us who drive over morning of at Oh dark thirty.

    My early Birthday Kokanee kit.

Um I agree with the hoochie sentiments and we need some apexes also. Happy Belated birthday

Matzou sickle vs. gama octopus hooks

I switched off the octopus to dropshot hooks a couple years and have not looked back. As far as sickle hooks are concerned I started with them last year and so far so good. My initial impression is that they are better than octopus (hook to landing ratio) but not quite as good as dropshots for...

    any luck?

We generally shoot for 1.8 trolling 8" slingblades followed by either rolled herring or Brads Superbait cut plugs. We did also catch a couple on a shasta matrix minnow in black and white.

    Driving to Wickiup

Sounds like I-5 to hwy 58 is the preferred route by most based on this thread, however if you do decide to come Government camp or Santiam, it is much faster when you get south of Bend to turn on Vandevert road and pop directly over to Wickiup than to go down to Wickiup Junction.

    any luck?

LBC has been fishing well I guess. I have been out for Bulls a couple times late last month and early this month. Each time we had 1-3 koke rods out trolling faster than normal because our target was bulls (caught 12 bulls between the two trips of around 2-3 hours each) but in spite of limited...

    Billy Chinook

Yep, there is a website that I cannot remember right now that discusses all the salient points of this fish passage project Deschutes passage comes to mind, but this has been going on for about a year and a half and probably is partly responsible for the slight increase in Kokanee size in LBC...

    Gp Derby Results 2011

We had a challenging day technically with an autopilot not working, main downrigger rod having issues and net having issues, however inspite of the difficulties we put 36 kokes on board, kicked a couple dinks off at the back of the boat put one deep hooked trout in the box and released 3 or 4...

    Wallowa Lake Does It AGAIN!!!

That is an awesome fish, however the record set by Ron Campbell last year weighed 9.67# (9 pounds 10 and 3/4 ounces). I really need to make a trip.

cresent lake results/practcing catch & release

I bonk them before icing them unless I we have three or 4 fish hooked up in which case a casual toss to the cooler and on to the next fish. The part of the metabolism I am trying to slow is all those involved in the autonomic nervous system digestive system secretory glands (slime) etc... Most...

cresent lake results/practcing catch & release

The side bonus of the cooler/ice method is that the slower metabolism, less stress will keep the fish from losing as much weight from catch to weigh-in and when most of these derbies are so close in weight, that may gain you a placing or two.

    4/9/11 at Greenpeter

At the same time don't completely ignore those deep fish you are marking, sometimes you will hit some of them that are willing to bite, the lake may not have turned back over yet. The past couple weeks LBC has been running 42-46 degrees and the most productive depth for us has been 60-70' and I...

    LBC ?'s

We fished on Sunday the March 26th. Headed straight up near Perry South. I run 4 sinker rods and 4 DR rods. We started by setting the sinker rods, after setting the first and moving to set the second, the first already had a fish on. Finished setting the second went to net the first and the...

    Lake Billy Chinook

I live up in Culver so I am about 5 minutes from my driveway to the first ramp at LBC and about the same to the ramp at haystack Reservoir. I believe that the last time I spoke with a F&W official they said that their current estimates put the koke population in LBC at around 4.2 million...
