Sounds like a fun trip. I think we all have to have the same attitude as you and enjoy the outing regardless of catching. tooexcited

    Last day of June.

I tried for kokes for the first time on Friday and it was tough. We fished around the pipe between 35 to 45 ft down. Pink and orange wiggle hochies worked the best behind RMT hyper plaid dodgers. We got two limits of fish in 7 hours of fishing , so it is like everyone is saying, IT IS SLOW...

    Turn & Burn 5-22-2023

That sounds like a long day. I have not tried for kokes this year but I hear it has been tough. I was talking with the biologist and he said it will be another tough year for koke anglers this year. We have been doing good on the macs and rainbows so far this year.

    4/23 it's getting closer

Went down to the ramp at Lucerne to take a look. The ice is starting to pull away from the bank but I think we are looking at a week or two before it's gone. I walked out to the wave breaker they put out last year and they have installed bublers around it but it looks like the ice has done...

March 25 and 26 still ice

Went up to Manila Friday and found they still have lots of snow and ice. So I did a few things around the house and loaded the ice fishing gear in the tuck. Woke up Saturday morning and headed to meet a friend at Anvil. We jumped on his four wheeler and headed north and stopped and got set up...

    Ice fishing

Went out on Lynnwood bay Saturday around 10 AM and fished until 2. Got 9 pups and a Ling. Was using white jigs in 30ft of water. Went out to the same area on Sunday and fished from 9 AM until noon and got 14 pups on the same tackle but in a little deeper water. The ice was 4" with a little...

    12/17 & 12/17 cold trip

12/17 & 12/18 cold trip I went out shore fishing Friday evening for a few hours and got 5 good sized rainbows on jigs. I fished around Lynnwood Bay. Woke up Saturday morning to a balmy 1° and just couldn't get excited to get out so I did a few thing around the house and finally headed out...

    Green LED submersible light

I have used a submersible green light at Pinveiw for crappie with good success. I put it down 20 feet because that's how long the cord is on it. I have also used it on the Utah side of the Gorge while Burbot fishing with good success. I will put it right of the bottom. I think it attracts...

    Flaming Gorge Water Level

I do agree let's hope mother nature is good to us this winter. I haven't seen the lake this low in close to 20 years. Rodger you didn't miss much this year, I koke fishing was very inconsistent to say the least.

    Berry Bad 8-18-2022

Sounds like a fun trip especially after taking a month off. I have not fished for kokes at the berry this late in the season.

West Hill Pond Report 2022 - Connecticut

I really enjoy watching the videos you make and I have used several things I have learned to help put more fish in the boat. Sounds like you have had a very fun year fishing all across the states.

    Strawberry 7/10

We got most of our kokes over in Renegade, only got a few by the triangle.

Sounds like a fun trip, I would take 25 cuts over no fish. What part of the lake did you fish?

    Strawberry 7/10

I would go early, it was nice and cool in the morning and that's when the bite was best. I think that if a guy hit it early they could have a good trip.

    Strawberry 7/10

Left Ogden at 4 AM and headed for silver summit were I met a freind and we headed to the lake from there. When we arrived the parking lot was not as pack as I thought it would be. We got the boat on the water and had to get the new Garmin autopilot set up and then it was time to fish. We started...

Thanks Rodger, the kokes averaged about 2.5 pounds. If I had to choose a year to not fish the Gorge I would choose this year. The koke fishing has been tough and trying to pattern them has been all but impossible for me.

Thanks Mark, it was a fun trip. I wish the fishing would have been better. One thing I didn't mention, they had a flash flood on Thursday, the roads in Manila got washed out in a few places and the lake has lots of small logs and other stuff floating in it.

The morning of the first we spent koke fishing in the red cliff area and got three kokes after spending hours chasing them. That evening we went mac fishing in antelope flats and jigged up a few. Morning 2 we headed north and got 15 kokes by the ranch we started at 30 ft and ended at 50ft. I...
