    The gorge, again...06/29/20

I would vote in favor of it as well. I would like to see two times your daily limit as your possession limit. I’m almost positive that’s how Wyoming used to be but changed it. And I understand that’s hard to enforce but people come from all over the country to fish the gorge and only be able to...

    The gorge, again...06/29/20

Bob, that possession limit may very well apply in Utah, but as I understand the Wyoming regs that is not the case. I’m sure you meant utah, but to anyone else who might read this I figured I would clear it up! In Wyoming the regs read - “Possession Limit Means the maximum number of game fish...

    Weekend report.

If you find a good group of small macs, I’ve always dinexwell jigging for em. I think they’re way more apt to hit a tube jig or mister twister topped with sucker meat than they are a rapala. If you want to troll for em, I’ve had better luck on a slower approach. 1.4 or so. Just enough to give...

    And Buckboard reports?

As far as I’m concerned it’s been a dinkfest up here too. I had to’ve put 100 kokanee in the boat so far this year and have caught exactly one fish over 3 lbs....and barely! He was 3.02 and his running mate on the next pass was 2.7. Heck I haven’t even caught another fish over 2.9.

    I’ll add!

Same as what the old guy above said :) Faster for kokes, slower for Macks.

    I’ll add!

If you want to stay with your kokanee presentation you can. I drop it down to the bottom of where I was catching Kokanee and a touch lower. This last weekend would’ve been 35-45 feet. The most important thing is to slow down. 1.1-1.4 seem to be better speeds for pups. I will also usually put a...

    I’ll add!

I hate when forums are slow and couldn’t believe how dormant this place was early season so I hadn’t checked back. Good to see some chatter!! I’ve been out 3 times. Day 1 was a learning day on May 6th out with a buddy. Finally filled two limits of fish between 11 and 12 o’clock before getting...

Trying to liven the place up!

Hahahaha! Yea I have a 16 footer. I've put it through the paces and proved she's sea worthy. Zigzagging across the lake in high swells has been necessary a few times and now a days the only time I get real nervous is loading it by myself in those big swells. I left a glassy flaming gorge at...

Trying to liven the place up!

I had my day of getting humbled today. I guess everyone gets a turn. Landed 4. One fish over 3 lbs was it. Decided I better get home and get the smoker rolling before I got sunburnt and the tubers started running around. Beautiful day out on the big pond though! Not a breath of wind.

Trying to liven the place up!

Sorry "liketrolling" gotta click on em. I'm too lazy to try and figure out which link actually works hahaha. We're fishing close to the tornados of boats but not too close ;) Were able to keep another 8 for the smoker today between 2.5 and 3.25 lbs while as safely as we could releasing the others.

Trying to liven the place up!

Been a while since I posted but this place is so dead I felt compelled to! I miss the day's message boards were alive and well! The last couple of years I've been priding myself on not just catching fish but being a fisherman. Honing in on angling skills and not resting until I felt I've given...

    Flaming Gorge Fish Derby 2014

It was crazy how the bigger kokes just seemed to disappear. Biggest we caught in two days was just under 3 lbs. Those 2 1/2 pounders sure are hitting hard though!

    Weekend on the water

The wind blows "less" the further south you go but probably still a fluke that the wind was "never a problem". Usually when I feel that first big gust at about 10 or 10:30 am I just get off the water.

    May 3,4 Buckboard

I've lived in Green River my entire life and I've never once heard jap island called "mac island". But that's beside the point. And another thing, Squaw Hollow will forever be "Squaw Hallow"

    Anybody finding any yet?

10-4 Thank you. I did pretty good on that group of kokes a few years ago straight out from anvil in the early part of the season. I'm betting some guys are catching a few there and keeping it under wraps ;) I don't blame em I guess!

    Anybody finding any yet?

Were the boats out there trolling around deep water for kokes or rainbows??? Looks like I might go hit the river tomorrow and try and catch me a good brown or two!
